A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 19th/ MARCH 2017.    " FATHERS DAY HERE IN SPAIN "

We had a nice lie in this morning, the first this week, we then had a traditional ‘English ‘ breakfast, Fried Eggs ( still not Campo!) with crispy Smoked Bacon ( Spanish!) with buttered (un salted) toast ( Farmhouse thick!) and mugs of strong, steaming ‘PG’ Tips! It sets us up for the day ahead!!

After showering, later, we are going out for a light ‘ Tapas ‘ lunch up at ' Bar Rojas ' - we sat under the 'Sonbrajo ' in the hot afternoon sunshine taking in the sights and sounds of a very sunny Manilva as we had our nice cool drinks,we met a very nice couple from Sevilla, Javier & Antemisa ( Temi) who have an apartment down in Sabinillas, we had a nice chat and talked about Sevilla, Sanluca de Barramenda and Portugal! Nice to meet you!!

In ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ next week ‘Reina’ is with us for her normal five days, ‘ Scruffy’ is joining us for the day on Tuesday, yesterday lunchtime Brian called in with ‘ Charlie ‘ to thank us for looking after him, he’s back to normal and has had no more attacks, the tablets are working, he was delighted to see us, he had just been in the fountain, after all he is a ‘Water Dog’!

The sun was out early this morning and the sky is already bright blue and clear, the breeze has dropped and we are in for another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – it’s due to reach the mid 20s by lunchtime, next week is going to be even warmer but on Friday the next ‘ Atlantic’ front is due to hit us, bringing with it the rain, wind and another cold front, watch this space.

Just a quick update on the sports results; Everton won 4-0 making Brian a very happy ‘ Scouser’ – Real Madrid had a lucky win 1-2 and are top of the ‘ La Liga ’ for now! In a very strange ending to a ‘Rugby Union Test Match’ over in Paris, France snatched a dramatic and controversial ‘ Six Nations’ win over Wales, 20-18, after 20 minutes, of overtime, while taking a repeated scrum on the Welsh try line?! Meanwhile over in Dublin Ireland beat England 13-9 and ended England’s back to back ‘Grand Slam’ hopes as well as not getting their 19th consecutive win!! That man ‘ Jonny Sexton ‘  helped, as usual, Ireland to break English hearts!!

This evening I will making ‘ A La Carte ‘ style, to order, my famous ‘ Smoked Chicken & Three Green Bean Risotto’ – finely diced Shallots with a clove of Garlic, a small dash of Lea & Perrins and Tabasco,  Spanish ‘Arborio’ Rice from Valencia, a good slug of Spanish White Wine, a strong, warm Chicken & Vegetables stock, cubed Smoked Chicken Breast with the juices, pre-cooked Broad Beans, French Beans & Runner Beans, at the end the seasoning is adjusted with a little grated Parmesan, chopped Parsley and a dash of Cream!

See below!

This evening we are going to watch the final episode (5) of ‘SS-GB’ on BBC TV after watching the start of the new series of ‘ Vera ‘ over in ITV.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
