CASA DEL ABUELO. DOG REPORTED LOST,THEN FOUND.

Friday 31st.October.

As forecast the rain started at 7-ooam and has not stopped since;when it rains in Spain it is always very severe and non-stop! As the morning went on it became time to take the dog out for his walk so I got myself a large waterproof with a hood and wrapped up to brave the conditions, with the umbrella up and the hood down I set of with the dog down the lane by the villa. It soon became a cloudburst and the lane was awash with flowing water cascading down like a river! In the meantime Bruno had disappeared into the mist along his favourite spots and could not hear me when I called and whistled for him to come back, every so often he appeared out of the mist and then shot off into the woods by the side of a steep drop down a grassy ,muddy bank only this time there was no sign of him for over 15mins as I screamed and whistled for him to come back! I then started to walk back towards the villa along the lane to the spot where he usually comes to us and we put the lead back on,no Bruno!!After another 15mins I was just about to go back to villa to get Brenda to come and help me find the damn dog when she came out looking for me,the dog had run home right at the start and she thought that it was me that had gone missing over the cliff into the woods when the dog came home without me!!!The dog is keeping out of my way at the moment and I’ve just been rubbed down and dried !!!!

CASA DEL ABUELO.

Thursday 30th.October.

First thing in the morning is dog walking time after we have fed the fish in the pond. This morning when I went to the pond –no fish! after exhaustive enquiries and searching, including speaking to the pond man,he suggested that it was the gardner when he was cutting down the bushes on the wall-they might have been spooked!! We thought that we had been “Fishnapped” !!!The pictures below shows Bruno on his morning walk up the lane behind the villa and the views of the mountains behind Marbella on a gorgeous day-the last for a few days as the forecast is rain and the temperature is going below 20 degs. for the first time in ten months!

Whilst we have been out for lunch we have had three more bids on the German eBay site! It’s creeping up!!

BEACH HOUSE RESTAURANT.

Wednesday 29th.October.

We awoke to a beautiful sunny Costa de Sol day which is the nicest time of the year with the views over the mountains quite spectacular; Miguel, the gardener was cutting down the overgrown paths as we sat on the terrace for our breakfast. At lunchtime we had booked a table at the Beach House Restaurant on their special offer and as you can see it was a gorgeous day and the restaurant was busy, the beach was also busy with half term holiday makers and children but the part in front of us was deserted as you can see in the pictures below;Brenda had Goats Cheese and Pear Spring Roll with a warm Tomato Chutney, followed by Pan Fried Sea Bass resting on a warm salad with Chorizo and I had the Confit of Duck Rissoto with Baby Peas and to follow a Roasted Fillet of Pork served on a savoury mash with wilted greens and a Herb Jus!We also had a couple of drinks with our meal as we sat in the afternoon sun soaking in the atmosphere and relaxing, looking at the views over to Africa, and the best part was that it cost us nothing thanks to the vouchers from our sales training for Marriot! We are going back next week for the same again as we still have some vouchers left!!

CASA DEL ABUELO.

Monday 27th.October.

In the morning we went down to the supermarket in Guadalmina to stock up for this week. The sun was out and it was hot during the day as we potted about in the villa.Vidal rang to catch up with all the news, his car is still off the road so he will keep the hire car until the weekend. We have started to read in the afternoon as the sun goes down and with the clocks going back over the weekend taking effect it gets a little cooler.Dinner was Chicken and Frits with stir fried mixed vegetables and then we settled down to a little TV

Tuesday 28th October.

Today it is a little cooler but the sun came out at lunchtime as we shot over to the house to pick up some documents that we needed as we had a phone call from Tim, who lets us use his address in Colwyn Bay for post to say that we needed to get in touch with the DLVA about the Winnebago and Smart Car;on the way over we called into the garage to check on the sale,at the moment there have been 26 bids,it’s creeping up slowly! So fingers crossed for Sunday evening!! I have the German eBay site on line and we are watching it all the time as the clock ticks down.Tonight we are having omelettes for supper with salad!Tomorrow we are going out for lunch at the Beach House as they have a two course offer on and we still have some vouchers to use up from our Marriot sales training earlier in the year.

CASA DEL ABUELO.

Sunday 26th.October.

We had a lie in after our day of settling in and also with the clocks going back;the sun is out and we have also got the animals into their routine,The fish in the pond are fed first, then the wild cats(5/7) in the garden, our two house cats come and go as they please and Bruno, who is lovely,is taken for his walk in the morning and then in the evening when we go off down the lanes with him,he knows the way and loves having stones to chase in the grass! He is very good and comes back when we call or whistle him to put him back on his lead. For our Sunday brunch I made scrambled eggs with Smoked Salmon and Brenda had squeed fresh oranges for Bucks Fizz as we sat in the mid morning sun on the terrace. In the afternoon, Brenda was by the pool as I watched the racing from Aintree and the motorcycling from Valencia before we went for our first swim in the pool which was very refreshing as by then it was nearly 25degs in the shade!I am now using my I-pod all the time after Tims daughter Jo,who is an absolute star has put nearly a thousand songs on it with all sorts of music from Classical to Ska,all listed and categorized including all our favourite artists!Lots of love to Jo.We then watched Strictly Come Dancing before we had supper,Pork Cutlets pan fried in foaming salted Brittany butter, baby Carrots, stir fried Leeks and Green Peppers in a sweet chilli sauce and sauté Potatoes all washed down with a local Vino Blanco! Later we watched Oasis, live in concert from the Roundhouse in London, who were very good, with a new drummer and a backing choir;they did all the oldies and some new songs from the latest albulm.

CASA DEL ABUELO.

MANILVA,GUALDAMINA.

Thursday 23rd. October.

We were up bright and early and shot across to the bank in Estepona to change our English money and then call into the garage to get a update on the Winnebago. It’s back on eBay and will finish on the 2nd.November so we are watching it every day with great interest and fingers crossed! We then came back to Manilva to the surgery for our flu jabs. Brenda has been very busy all day washing and ironing, the top room next to the roof terrace looks like a Chinese laundry as it is not a good drying day.Meanwhile I have been in the office catching up with the blog and e-mails before we pack for the move tomorrow to Guadalmina. In the afternoon I made a curry for supper which we had with Basmati Rice before we had an early night.

Friday 24th.October.

In the morning we did a little local shopping as we will get what we want for next week after we settle in to the villa in Guadalmina later today. We had a light supper and then packed the car ready to go when I noticed that the bar at the top of our street that has been refurbished during the last few months was having a opening night.Bar Rojas is now looking very smart and all the locals were in there with the local TV crew filming as when a new business opens that get a free advert on Manilva TV.We had a quick drink with the owner and then shot across to the villa where Clive and Carolyn made us very welcome with a nice bottle of Vino Blanco as we made the arrangements for our stay.James the pond man is due back on Saturday and next week James the floor man is calling in to finish off,the gardener Miguel is due in the middle of the week and the cleaning lady,Merly is in on Monday and Friday.Clive and Carolyn are going to Devon for a week and then to London to see an Al Green concert at the Albert Hall and some shows before we pick them up from Malaga airport late on Friday 7th. November.

Saturday 25th.October.

We were up very early as,5-00am to get the folks to the airport for their flight to Gatwick in the Toyota Land Cruiser,we then had Brenda’s famous Poached Eggs on toast for breakfast before we shot down to the supermarket to stock up for the weekend,as we were returning we had a phone call from Vidal asking for help to get him a hire car as he had a very bad day on Friday with his car and was desperate to get to his gigs over the weekend,Our car hire friend in Marbella,Roberto arranged one straight away and within half an hour Vidal was on his travels! We then took Bruno for a walk around the country roads,he knew his way better than us! The seven cats were lined up for feeding when we got back and the fish in the pond practically jump out of the water when I approach with the fish food! This morning we had a e-mail from Brenda’s sister in Australia,Lyn who has just been on holiday for three weeks and had done over 5000kms. along the Gold Coast and on to Queensland to see her son Jeff and his family. One of our mobile phones then went and it was our dear friend Joyce who we have not seen since she was over at her villa outside Marbella when Jane was staying with us earlier in the year,Joyce is coming over for a month over xmas so we will catch up with her then;Jane has just come back from a holiday in Miami with some friends and we are waiting for the report and pictures! Tonight we are having Chicken Breasts, flattened and cooked in a lemon( From the garden) butter sauce and we will then watch on the large screen TV, Strictly Come Dancing and a film.

NORTH WALES,THE WIRRAL AND MANILVA.

Sunday 19th October.

We were up bright and early but not as early as Tim who goes down to the beach to walk Jasper every morning; we had Bacon butties for breakfast and then popped out to catch up with the local news,We called into our friendly newsagents in Llanddulas which is the village below Rhyd-y-Foel where we used to live and then called in to see Jenny Faux who has just been back in touch with us by e-mail,so we are know up to date with all the gossip! We found out that Margaret who was our breakfast and vegetable cook for many years follows us on our web page when Janet who was our pastry chef brings her a copy to read! Thank you both for following us !We then called into our good neighbours in Rhyd-y-Foel,Gwyn,Carol,Liam, and Amanda to bring them up to date as well. At this time of the year the trees are in full Autumn colour and North Wales is at its finest. In the evening we sat down to dinner with Tim and the family as well as Patrick and Beth who have been Tim and our friends for many years,Patrick works with Tim at the school,Tim and Thea had roasted a Leg of Lamb with all the trimmings including Thea’s now famous Yorkshire Puddings! All washed down with a very fine couple of bottles of Rioja.

Monday 20th October.

Carol Ann Mellor.
25th December 1949-13th October 2008.

After picking up the flowers from the florist in Abergele we went across to Willaston to Carol’s house where all the family had gathered and passed on our thoughts to them including her mother Dorothy and her brother Dave who had just flown in from Canada. We then drove to Christ Church in Port Sunlight where the Rev’d Tom Carmichael took the service,he had done his homework very well and talked about Carol being born on Christmas day and how she got her name when her dad called into see his “ Christmas Carol”! He then went on to tell the story of Carol in her white hotpants sat in the Bridge Inn and meeting Fred for the first time with his mate Roy,I new this story as I was there when it happened and Brenda arrived in her pink thigh boots and hotpants as well !!Our two favourite Hymns,Jerusalem and The Lord is my Shepherd were sung by a very large congregation of family and friends who we had spoken to outside the church before the service including Fred’s three sisters from Port Sunlight. The Cremation was at Landican and we then returned to the Bridge Inn next to the church for refreshments. It was a beautiful crisp Autumn day on which we celebrated the life of our dear friend Carol and our many happy times with her and Fred and their children,Yolanda,Ben and Michelle. We then said our farewells to them and to Dorothy and Dave who is returning to Canada on Saturday.
The only time you have is now, enjoy what you have and you will be happy-the Mellor Clan motto to a tee!

Tuesday 21st October.

On Tuesday morning we set off back to the Wirral and first of all we called into to see Jane’s mom, Nan at her cottage as when we called into the hospital on Monday evening after the funeral she had just left for home a hour before!Nan is still not very well and is taking it a bit easy as she recuperates after her illness. We caught up with all the news as we had not seen her for many years, we have been friends for over forty years when I went to work for her husband ,Bert at the Bridge Inn-the rest is history! We then called in to see Brenda’s sister Jenny and her husband John and had a spot of lunch with them before we went back to Old Colwyn to have supper with the Moffatt family and say our goodbys and thanks as we had to leave for Manchester airport at 4-00am! for the flight home.

Wednesday 22nd.October.

After dropping off the hire car the Monarch flight took off for Gibraltar early so we expected to have no problems at the other end;as we approached Gibraltar it was covered in a very thick cloud and then a severe rain storm hit and so we had to circle for over half an hour until the cloud lifted and the runway was cleared of the flood water! The airstrip is very short and goes out to sea at one end and at the other end is stops just short so you do not want to skid,we landed and the pilot gave it the full reverse thrust and brakes as they do and we stopped a few feet from the runway red lights!!All very exciting and a good reason to have a stiff drink as soon as possible,Mano and Anna picked us up across the border and gave us a very nice welcome home in the warm rain.Tomorrow we have our flu injections in the morning and then a day at home washing and ironing as Carolyn called us and we are moving over on Friday evening to Guadalmina as they have a very early flight on Saturday;we will be there until the 7th.November looking after the villa and their animals including Bruno the dog so fingers crossed that the sun come out and then we will be able to swim in the pool,It’s a hard life but somebody got to do it!

NORTH WALES AND LIVERPOOL.

Friday 17th October.

Mano and Anna called and picked us up in the morning and dropped us at the border and we walked across to Gibraltar and the airport in the very warm sunshine, the picture shows the Rock from the airstrip as you walk onto the plane. We sat on the airport terrace and read the papers as we waited to be called,Gibraltar is a one policeman, one security scanner, one plane operation and is stress free, the exact opposite of Malaga and all other airports! We arrived in Manchester on time and picked up a hire car from the 13 storey car park above Terminal One,it turned out to be a Skoda, after an upgrade,it was very good and we started off to North Wales. On the way we called into see one of Brenda’s sisters,Norah, outside Runcorn and then carried on to North Wales to be welcomed by the Moffatt’s,Tim,Thea,Jo and Ben for a curry supper, sat around the table and caught up with all the news as we had not seen the family for over a year, except for Tim!The picture shows Thea and Jo in the family room at their lovely house in Old Colwyn . The last picture is of our old home in the village of Rhyd-y Foel which we sold over two years ago when our travels started!

Saturday 18th October.

On Friday evening as we talked and Jo found out that we were planning to go to Liverpool to see the new shopping complex,Liverpool “ One” she got rather excited and changed her plans and got a girl friend,Tash to join her for her favourite pastime, shopping! Liverpool is the 2008 City of Culture and it has been transformed over the past few years, the centre is now the largest shopping complex in Europe with the new ten thousand seater Echo Arena and next to it the multi purpose conference and venue building on the water front next to the Mersey along side the Albert Dock and Tate gallery.Liverpool is now a vibrant city once again and has been transformed but they have also kept the old grand buildings as well,in fact in the new Liverpool One they have mixed the new and old buildings in the development. As you can see the oldest pub in Liverpool,The Beehive is still on Paradise Street opposite the entrance to the new complex;we found our way into the car park of the largest new shop,John Lewis which is known as George Henry Lee’s by all Liverpudlians,I’ve had an account there for nearly fifty years! and the same lady on the Aramis counter has looked after us for over thirty years!! Thanks Norma!Jo and Tash then shot off to shop as we found our way around amongst the crowds on a beautiful Autumn day, later as you can see in the pictures a sea mist came up the river as we sat in the restaurant of Lees called “ The Place to Eat” and took the pictures of the Anglican Cathedral ,The St.Johns Beacon from which City Talk broadcasts from and which in 1966 I did the topping out ceremony as it was built. In another picture you can just see a ferry boat crossing the Mersey! In the heart of the complex there is a garden with modern fountains and it is surrounded with new hotels, apartments and entertainment buildings all over looking the river. On the way out we took the pictures of the Pier Head and the Liver Building with the mythical Liver Birds, the Ark Royal was berthed on the pier for a visit after leaving Gibraltar a few days before! In the evening I dropped Jo off in Rhos on Sea in her new top as she was going to a birthday party,Tim and Thea were out for the day with friends so we had fish and chips for supper from the local chippy! One “ Helluva ” city and one “ Helluva” day out,not to be forgotten for a long time.

MANILVA.

Thursday 16th October.

This morning we had a lie in as it is the last chance before our travels! Today is yet another sunny day so we are going for a walk after we finish the packing. This evening Gissy is calling in to cut our hair as Vidal has a gig down in Porta Duquesa. In the morning Mano is dropping us at the border and when we get to Manchester we will pick up a hire car in the airport and go across to North Wales to stay with Tim and Thea. They are out on Saturday so we are going to Liverpool for the day, watch out for the pictures,on Sunday we will spend the day with them and Monday is the day of the funeral in Port Sunlight, later the family have booked into the Bridge Inn,next to the church in the village which will bring back a lot of very happy memories as Carol and Fred met in the cocktail bar,the same as we did over forty years ago!On Tuesday we have an appointment with our bank to finalize arrangements on our account and then we going across to the Wirral again and are going to call into Arrowe Park hospital to see Jane’s mom,Nan,who is not very well at the moment, so we are going to surprise her with some flowers! Nan’s late husband ,Bert, who was the manager at the Bridge Inn that I went to work for after leaving The Stork Hotel in Liverpool and it was him that told me to catch and marry Brenda although it did not take much persuading as I had the same idea!!We are then going to call in and see one of Brenda’s sisters who also lives on the Wirral before we go back to NorthWales to pack and spend our last night with Tim and Thea, as our flight is very early on Wednesday morning back to Gibraltar and home in Manilva for lunch. We will then catch up with the blog page and all the news about our travels as we are then moving across to Gualdalmina at the weekend to house sit for Clive and Carolyn for two weeks at their beautiful villa.

MANILVA.

Wednesday 15th October.

Today has been a very warm and sunny day which at this time of the year is even nicer as it is not too hot and there is a little breeze in the air.We called into Estepona to pick up some English money, the notes have changed and then went across to Guadalmina to see Carolyn about looking after the house again at the end of the month. They are now going away for two weeks and we are also going to look after their dog,Bruno, which we made friends with today! So when we return next week we will have a few days at home before we move across to the villa,it will be quiet as the workman that were due have let them down! On the way back we called to see Vidal and Gissy to make the arrangements for tomorrow as Gissy is coming to cut our hair in the evening; meanwhile Brenda is busy ironing and packing.

MANILVA.

Tuesday 14th.October.

Later on Monday evening as the sad news sank in we started to make arrangements to fly over to England for the funeral on Monday.I went on line and managed to get seats on a Monarch flight out of Gibraltar on Friday morning. The flights have only just started again and it so much easier as Gibraltar is only 20 mins. away and Mano is going to drop us off at the border crossing,it’s only one hundred yards to the airport! Also the airport is a one plane at a time arrival and departure so there is no hassle with check in and baggage. We are staying in North Wales with Tim and Thea which is a bonus as we get to see them and the kids and it is near the Wirrall for the funeral on Monday. We are planning to go to Liverpool on Saturday to see the new city centre and to look around the city as it is the European City Of Culture for 2008 and there have been all sorts of new developments, including the new shopping complex! We will catch up with some business on Tuesday and call and see one of Brenda’s sisters at the same time. The flight back is very early on Wednesday morning and Mano will pick us up at the border. This morning we picked up some English Money from the bank and made some arrangements for the weekend.Tonight we are having a Beef Stew with Cabbage for dinner. At lunchtime Carolyn rang to ask us to extend the house sitting at the start of November to 10/12 days so we are calling in tomorrow to sort the date’s out.

MANILVA.

Sunday 12th 0ctober.

After a lie in after our night out with the Brazilian dancer’s we went for a walk around the village to clear our heads and found parts of the village that we had not seen before in the very narrow side streets at the top of the village. The sun was out so when we got back we decided to wash the car as at this time of the year it is covered in Sahara dust when the breeze gets up from Africa. We then had our usual Sunday brunch with Chorizo fried eggs as we watched the Grand Prix, which as Alonso won the commentators went mad !

Monday 13th October.

This morning we received the phone call that we have been dreading,Yola,Carol’s oldest daughter rang to tell us that sadly Carol our very dear and old friend had passed away during the night. We have been friends with Carol and her late husband Fred for nearly forty years and first met them at the Bridge Inn in Port Sunlight when I was the resident live in Assistant Manager and Brenda came to work there in the cocktail bar.Fred was our bestman at our wedding in Port Sunlight church some thirty seven years ago this November. He was from the village and had lived and worked in his early life for Unilever. When Fred died very tragically at a young age his funeral took place in the church;later on his eldest daughter ,Yola, in more happy times was married there so it with some very deep and lasting thought that we will return to Port Sunlight next Monday to Carol’s funeral. Our thoughts also go out to all the family at this very sad time,Dave,Carol’s brother who lives in Canada,Dorothy her mum,Yola,Ben and Michelle and their familys. The last time we spoke to Carol was after the weekend when they were all at her house in Willaston with her three Grandaughter’s and she had just received the news that there was two more Grandchildren on the way,so this is how we will remember her along with all the very happy times with the Mellor Clan,as she called them.

MANILVA

Friday 10th October.

We stayed local as the weather is not good at the moment but it is still warm even when it’s raining! In Sabinillas we called into the bookshop to exchange some book’s, we are reading more all the time in fact Brenda is now ahead of me. In the supermarket we spotted some Corned Beef so when we arrived home I made some Hash with the left over mashed potatoes from the night before, which we really enjoyed for a change.During the night we had a very bad thunder storm, when it rains in Spain it sure does!!

Saturday 11th October.

As we got up this morning and I checked the e-mails I found a very nice surprise; Jenny Faux, one of our very loyal and hard working staff from our time at the Seventy Degrees, had sent us a newsy e-mail,she also mentioned that Margaret our breakfast cook and Janet our pastry chef have been following us on the blog as well ! Thanks to all of you and lots of love. Anna is in North Wales at the moment arranging her Pension payments as she is now a pensioner ! Tonight we are having for dinner Rump Steak and Frits which we picked up from the English butchers the other day.Next week we should have been away again house sitting for Clive and Carolyn but they have just rung us to say that they have had to change their plans;so now we are going to look after the house at the beginning of November when they go to London for a week, this time they are leaving their dog so they want us to call in and make friends with him! After dinner we are going out to a Beach Bar in San Pedro as Vidal is playing there and he has arranged for some Brazilian lady dancers to perform! Watch out for the pictures,it’s a hard life being a photographer!

WINNEBAGO NEWS UPDATE-GERMANY.

Thursday 9th October.

The latest news on the Winnebago as she crosses into Germany is that she is no longer up for sale on eBay at the moment as there is so much interest in Hamburg with prospective buyers calling to say that they want to see it! It will arrive some time tomorrow and the garage in Germany will then contact the customers and they will put it on show for five days so as to give everybody a chance to view it! It will then go back on eBay at the end of next week!! Positive news for the sale and to get our price !!!

MANILVA.

Monday 6th October.

In the morning we went across to Estepona to call into the bank, shop at the hypermarket and then call into the agent to arrange to keep the advert going for house sitting in the Sur newspaper. We then called into the garage to see if the missing trade plates had arrived ,they had not! So they are putting German Red plates on the Winnebago and she is leaving for Germany on Wednesday morning after the insurance and breakdown starts It has now been put on German eBay from Monday evening which I have on our PC.s and so we are watching it with great interest. On the way back we picked up some fresh Gambas for lunch which we had with some salad. In the early evening Mano and Anna called in and asked us out for a drink and some tapas,It was a very sunny day so we walked down to a bar that has just changed hands on the edge of the village and sat outside to eat a selection of tapas, including some delicious Cod fish skewers with Onion cooked over charcoal! We then went and played Pool under floodlights and I nearly beat Anna on a black ball finish! The evening ended up back at their house which is nearly finished, the new white leather suit had just arrived!

Tuesday 7th October.

We called into the garage to make sure that everything was OK for Wednesday and as we checked on the PC in the office there had already been some offers on eBay to start the bidding. When we got home we called to see how Carol was getting on,to Michelle her daughter, only to find out that the news was not good, she has now caught one of the hospital superbugs MSRA?! The family are very upset as it is making a very differcult time even worse. Her brother Dave is flying over from Canada and her other daughter ,Yola is coming over from Switzerland at the weekend. Our thoughts go out to the family at this very worrying time.

Wednesday 8th October.

As we got up we checked on eBay and saw to our great satisfaction that the price bidding had gone up with 20 bidders so far,we then went across to the garage and when we arrived there it had then gone up to 23 bids after just two days.Watch this space and fingers crossed !!On the way back we called into see Vidal and Gissy in their apartment and caught up with all the news,Vidal has been calling into the garage every day and checking with the owner Joachim in German to keep us updated.Last night was curry night so this evening we are having Pork Cutlets from the local butcher in the village

Thursday 9th October.

It is another warm and sunny day today but the forecast for the weekend is not so good with rain and winds,We went into the bank again in Estepona , we have to do this because our new card has got caught up in a local post strike in Estepona,so we are using cash all the time.We then picked up some Calves Liver from the English butchers for supper this evening as Mano is joining us as Anna is away in North Wales for a few days; she has got a flight from Gibraltar on Monarch which has started using the airport again, its only 30 mins from us! The pictures below show the Winnebago as she was leaving for Germany yesterday lunchtime. As I am typing this she is crossing France!

GUADALMINA,UPDATE.

Monday/Friday 29th/3rd October.

Sorry but we have been off line for week as the floor people had to remove the IT station so as they could work along the top corridor and get the job finished; they cleaned up on Saturday morning and have left the floors as if new! Every day this week they arrived at 9-30am and worked all day,the cleaner Merly was in for two days and was able to put a sparkle on the house on Friday morning, the builder, Rafael, called in on Tuesday and I was able to show him all the problems after the rain storm and floods at the weekend. The gardner ,Miguel, was in on Wednesday and cleaned up the patio ‘s and garden. In the morning’s after everybody had arrived we would pop out down to the shops in Guadalmina in the Astra to stock up and also call into the English butchers which is just around the corner;we had supper in the kitchen each evening and sat outside on the patio for a snack at lunchtime as the weather has been warm and sunny all week.In the late afternoon we have been for a swim in the pool every day as the sun is over the pool all day and it is just a nice temperature! On Wednesday Vidal and Gissy called in as they live just around the corner so we sat outside on the large patio and caught up with all the news,we had an warm Caeser salad and a bottle of chilled Rose. The Winnebago has still not left for Germany as the trade plates have still not arrived but they are expected this Monday, manana!! During the week we have been watching the large screen TV and so on Friday evening I was able to watch the Jools Holland show late on and also follow and see the football, but no soaps!

Saturday 4th October.

Today is our last day at the house as we are picking up Clive and Carolyn from the airport later,at 11-30pm and are going home on Sunday morning. The floors look very good and they were very happy when the got home. The two house cats were also very happy to see them !!

They also have a date in mind in early November as well.so very many thanks to them!
