A STILL GREY & OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 5th / MARCH 2017.

We had a little lie in this morning as ‘ Charlie’ was ready to go out earlier than normal, he slept all night on the rug besides our bed, this morning he tapped me, as a warning, before he jumped on me to tell me it was time to go out, ‘Scruffy’ as usual was in his bed and on our bed all night, we then shot out down the bottom of the village for our first walk of the day.

When we returned we had our breakfast, Poached Eggs on Toast for me and Scrambled Eggs on Toast for Brenda, the dogs also had their breakfast, they are in high spirits and get on very well together.

This morning has started a little grey & overcast with the threat of rain in the air, there is also a little breeze making it still a lot cooler, tomorrow is going to be warm & sunny and the rest of the week gets better as the week goes on, warm sunshine & clear sky, no breeze, into the high 20s – watch this space.

See below a picture taken this morning from ' Punta Chullera ' along the coast towards Sotogrande of the sunrise and ships out on the Mediterranean.

After breakfast I got this evenings supper on the go “ Lancashire Hotpot “ – using a ‘ Rack of New Zealand, South Island, Lamb ‘- I ‘ brown off the seasoned cutlets/chops first, then I build up the layers of my special version of the Hotpot, sliced Onions, Shallots & Garlic, diced Carrots, Leeks, Celery, Turnips & Mushrooms along with the finely sliced Potatoes, the thinnest on the top! I then top up the pot with a strong Chicken & Vegetable stock, seal the lid, ready to go in the oven this evening, the lid comes off near the end of cooking and knobs of butter are dribbled on the top to brown off the potatoes, we are having ‘ Carrots a la Flamande ‘ ( mixed with Garden Peas) & Pickled Red Cabbage.

Just a quick update on the sports results; Liverpool won 3-1, Barcelona won 5-0 & Real Madrid won 1-4.

We are taking things easy today, we were going to go up to ‘Bar Rojas for a ‘ Al Fresco ‘ Tapas lunch but as its’ not so nice we will go another day, on Monday evening we have our appointments down at the surgery with the ‘ Chiropodist ‘ On Friday afternoon we are going across to the hospital for my appointment with ‘ Anestesia Consultant’ for my pre-operation check up, watch this space.’ Reina’ is back with us for four days next week, ‘Charlie’ is here until Wednesday evening and ‘ Scruffy ‘ is TBC.

After supper we will settle down to watch the next episode of “ SS-GB “
