A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 20th/ MARCH 2017.    “ THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING “

This morning Brenda was up very early as she needed to go down to the surgery as she is having problems with a swollen knee, Lee & Daniela were dropping ‘Reina’ off very early, she joined me in bed for a little lie in, so she asked them for a lift to the surgery, our Doctor, Natalia, took Brenda in without an appointment and has given her some pain killers and she’s going back first thing on Wednesday morning for a local Anesthetic, to be able to drain the liquid retention from her knee, she’s then back on Friday morning for a review/check up and the results of her tests from the other day. Watch this space.

To start the week, in the right direction, we had ‘ Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ with mugs of steaming tea, we had our regular ‘Menu’ planning meeting, tonight it’s the rest of the ‘Smoked Chicken Risotto’ – on Tuesday we are having a ‘ Salteado ‘ – a Spanish fry-up using English Pork Sausages, Chorizo, assorted Peppers, diced Potatoes, assorted vegetables and topped with fried Eggs! I will then go down to the butchers for Wednesday evenings dish, Thursday is find something in the deep freeze night, Friday is a ‘ Fish Supper’ and on Saturday, as usual we will be having our ‘ Steak Special’!

After breakfast we shot out on our travels along Calle Mar, Brenda called into the Chemists for her new tablets and I stopped at the local ‘Tabacs’ to top up our ‘Pay As You Go’ mobiles phones, I then got some cash from the local Bank machine.

We have another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the ‘Vernal Equinox ‘ – ‘The First Day of Spring’!  The sun was out early, the sky is bright blue and cloudless, there is no breeze and by lunchtime it will be back in the mid 20s, like yesterday, in the afternoon it was actually very hot, the rest of the week is looking warm & sunny but the weekend could see some of the wet stuff back and getting cooler, watch this space.

See the pictures below of the first cruise liner, this year, berthed at the ‘ Liner Terminal’ at the  Pier Head in Liverpool, the “ Saga Pearl 11 “

Our ‘ Pensions’ cycle into our Spanish Bank Account started this morning, the first one is down, again, one of the lowest so far as the ‘ Euro’ is at its lowest rate this year, we are now nearly 35% down!

Yesterday afternoon we watched the ‘Premiere League ‘ live on ‘ First Row Sports’ with the ‘ Match of the Day ‘ as Manchester City welcomed Liverpool, they had to settle for a point apiece as they battled out a thrilling 1-1 draw at the ‘ Etihad Stadium ‘ A hugely entertaining game littered with talking points, astonishing misses and debatable refereeing decisions. Meanwhile over here in ‘ La Liga’ Barcelona won 4-2 and are second in the league table behind Real Madrid, watch this space.

After supper we settled down to watch the final episode of “ SS-GB “ on BBC TV, a weak ending, with more questions than answers, as ‘ Archer’ managing to make a hasty getaway, with the ‘Atomic Bomb’ secrets still safe in his hands, after the plot to save the old, infirm King was all a big trap to capture the resistance, he is seen running off through the English countryside, to the unoccupied region, while his ‘SS’ boss was executed by a firing squad, a spy was tortured by fish hooks down his throat, the King was shot & killed as well as the lady resistance fighter, the ‘ Mr Big’ disappeared, the American lady spy was rescued before being interrogated, it needed one more episode to bring all the loose ends together?!

Next week in the same time slot it’s the return of the excellent ‘Line of Duty ‘ – series 4 – the Police crime/drama procedural series as the Good Cops investigate the Bad Cops!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
