WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA AT LUNCHTIME ON MONDAY - THE START TO THE WEEK;

THOUGHTS FOR DAY FROM SUNNY MANILVA;

CLEAR AND SUNNY MANILVA AT THE START OF AN IMPORTANT WEEK;

MONDAY 31st/ MARCH 2014.

Last night at about 9-00pm we had an out of this world experience; we were watching a film and I went to see at what time the tennis on another channel started, none of the times made sense, the film was nearly finished but it looked like it had another hour to go, the tennis had started early and we had missed the news, I checked the times again and nothing made any sense, we looked at the clocks and they all said 9-00pm ?! We then realized after checking the newspaper that we had totally forgotten and missed the clocks going forward an hour!!

We did not read the papers on Friday as usual because we were busy, on Saturday we did not see any TV or go online as we were out on the coach trip and on Sunday I was in the office during the day typing the Blog and posing the pictures; we now realize that our lie-in was an hour longer than we thought, the dog coming early was in fact at her normal time, the programmes that we missed had already been on and we had been eating later all the day, breakfast was in fact brunch, our snack lunch was in fact afternoon tea and we then had our steak dinner when we should have been going to bed !! We felt a proper pair of loony old age pensioners !!!

This means that we also don’t know what the weather forecast is for the week until this afternoons main news, it’s clear and fine at the moment but a little cooler than normal; no plans for today, tomorrow afternoon we are picking Gillian up from the bus station over in Marbellas after her flight into Malaga, she’s here for a week – then on Wednesday morning I have my important appointment with my Prostrate consultant for the results of my Biopsy across at the hospital past Marbella– fingers crossed!! Josie and Den are still on their travels and don’t know at the moment when they will arrive in Algeciras so we might get the call or maybe not?!

We have been for our walk later this morning with the dog around the village in the warm sunshine,in the new passage way four statues have appeared on top of the plinths ?!- more to follow - see the pictures above.

So this evening’s supper is going to be flattened Breast of Turkey pan-fried in foaming Lemon Butter served on a bed of savory Basmati Rice with a rich creamy Mushroom sauce and diamond-cut Green Beans; the menu’s for the rest of the week are being planned at the moment – watch this space! It sounds like we will pick something up from the butchers tomorrow and on Wednesday when we come back from the hospital I'am going to make my famous ' Chicken Curry'

Yesterday we caught two films as our lost day progressed; " The Confession " from 1999 with Alex Baldwin,Ben Kingsley and Amy Irving - its got lots of twists. Then we watched " State of Play " from 2009 with Russel Crowe,Ben Affleck,Helen Mirren,Rachel McAdams,Robin Wright Penn and Jeff Daniels in a story about cover ups in government,based on the English TV series of the same name - don't miss it !

Then after supper we will watch the main evening news,sport and weather reports to catch up as to what is happening and where we are !! We are like two old lost souls!!

This week is also a big week in football as its the Quarter Finals of the 'UEFA Champions League' as Barcelona welcome Atletico Madrid and Manchester Utd welcome Bayern Munich in the first leg matches on Tuesday.On Saturday its the 'Grand National' from Aintree and then on Sunday its the 'Bahrain Grand Prix'

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM SUNNY MANILVA;

SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 30th/ MARCH 2014.

Well we had a good long lie in this morning after yesterdays day out in sunny Cadiz & El Puerto de Santa Maria; we had a cooked breakfast for a change with crispy Smoked Bacon, Chorizo and local Campo Fried Eggs and then decided to have a nice quiet day at home pottering about; I went up to the office and caught up on the E-Mails and Facebook messages before typing and posting the Blog and pictures from yesterday.

The dog came calling early and stayed for a while playing around the house, Brenda took her for a short walk as I was struggling up in the office with a slow connection to post the Blog; today it’s our friend Josie’s 65th birthday which she is spending in Paris on her way to Barcelona then Madrid and down to Algeciras by train – have a very “Happy Birthday” and a ‘Helluva’ day with Den! See you next week, sometime!!

For supper this evening we are having ‘Steak a la Plancha’ with sautéed Mushrooms,finely sliced Green Beans and twice-cooked Chips ‘Bearnasie’ sauce on the side! – last nights planned supper!

While I’ve been typing the Blog I have been following on the BBC Sports News page the football over in England; in the early kick off Everton won 1-3 against the bottom team Fulham,so Big Bri over in Pori will be rather happy and Liverpool are beating Spurs 4-0 at the moment,it's the final result and they have gone  top of the ‘Premier League’ by 2 points this evening!! Earlier I watched the end of the ‘Malaysian Grand Prix’ from Kuala Lumpur as Hamilton led from the start and won!

This evening after supper we will catch up with all the news,sport and weather reports before finding a film to watch.

PS; “ Happy Mother’s Day ” to all the mum’s we know!
