THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM SUNNY MANILVA;

A OVERCAST & SLIGHTLY COOL SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 29th/SEPTEMBER 2015.

I was up early this morning as 'Reina' was due back for the day here in 'Doggy World Heaven' We both shot back upstairs and got back to bed which was kept warm by Brenda,we all then had a nice lie in before the workmen got too noisy!

We bumped into Rose on our way back from the Chiropodist yesterday evening  and she asked us if 'Scruffy' could come for a sleep over on Friday - no problem! He's not now joining us this Xmas so we have let the folks know that we could take 'Freddie & Bentley' as they had asked us last time that they were here. 'Charlie' is with us for two weeks over Xmas into the New Year and 'Reina' is with us for five days over the New Year!

After our normal breakfast we sorted ourselves out for the day ahead,I called and made an appointment with 'Ben' at the 'IT' shop over in Estepona for tomorrow morning to go and purchase the new system, at the same time I'm taking the two old PCs with us for him to transfer and then clear off! Watch this space!!

Today has started overcast and cool as a stiff breeze has got up which is bringing a 'Atlantic' front in,with is is some of the wet stuff, already Central & North East Spain has heavy rain,hailstones and snow on top of the mountains! The rest of week is looking OK with the sun back and dry, the daytime temperatures are down to 24/23 degs - normal for this time of the year.

Later this morning after packing away the PCs I'm getting ready this evenings supper; " Brochettes of Marinated Pork' served on a bed of Basmati Rice with my famous Tomato Salsa on the side, the 'Brochettes' are made with sliced Onion,Shallots,Red & Green Peppers and Chorizo, all coated in the marinade with mixed herbs.

Its definitively an at home day today catching up with all the chores, Brenda has her 'Pinny' on with her rubber gloves! Later after finishing and posting the Blog I'm disconnecting the two PCs and clearing and cleaning down the PC station.

Our 'Happy Hour' at the moment is taking place downstairs but its not the same as being upstairs on the roof terrace - that is no more! This evening Lee & Daniela are calling in to collect 'Reina' and they are going to be our witnesses to the new 'Will Transfer Documents'

After supper we will watch the news, sport and weather details before finding something to watch.

PS; SADLY THIS IS THE LAST BLOG FOR A LITTLE WHILE UNTIL THE NEW SYSTEM IS BACK ONLINE AND I HAVE MASTER'D  IT !!!!!!!!!   WATCH THIS SPACE !!!!!!!!!

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM SUNNY MANILVA;

A BREEZY & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 28th/ SEPTEMBER 2015.

We were up early this morning as I had an appointment with our Doctor at the surgery for a my six month check/review, my sugar levels are up a little so she has increased the dosage with my tablets,my 'PSI' reading is also up a little but I have another test in November as I have an appointment with my 'Prostrate Consultant 'at the start of December at the hospital over in Marbella.

This evening I'm back at the surgery to see the local 'Chiropodist' to get my feet checked etc. All the essential parts are in full working order for now! The young lady 'Pedicuro' was excellent and very professional , she's re-booked me in for a check up in November and at the same time Brenda is going to have the same treatment- all at no cost!

Brenda meanwhile shot down to the post office to send some birthday cards,we then had our usual breakfast of fresh Orange juice,Weetibix, fresh fruit and toast along with a mug of steaming English tea; I then met the rent a car people to hand over the car before walking back up through the village,.

I bought some fresh fine Green Beans in the local Fruit & Vegetable shop,next I called into the chemists to collect my new tablet prescription,lastly I went down to our local butchers for some flattened 'Chicken Breast' for tonight's supper, some diced marinated 'Pork' for the Brochettes tomorrow evening and 'Chicken Wings' for another day!

We are back to normal,the 'Chef & Staff' are back off their weeks holiday, 'Doggy World Heaven' is open for business again; 'Reina' is here on Tuesday and Thursday as normal and then on Saturday 'Scooby' arrives for his ten day holiday, he's a lovely dog and we are looking forward to welcoming him, 'Chispa' will be on 'lock down'.for a couple of weeks as its her time of the year!

Brenda is at the moment catching up with washing,ironing and cleaning and I;m up in the office on the WWW catching up with all the news,later we find about this weeks weather on the afternoon main news; our 'Happy Hour' will recommence so we will catch up with our reading

So this evening after supper we will watch the main news on 'TVE1' as well as all the sports round ups before settling down to find something to watch.

NB; The Blog' will be off line from Wednesday as we are planning to go across to Estepona to the 'IT'shop to buy the new system, if we can get an appointment with Ben the owner,I will take both the PCs and hopefully he's going to set everything up and I'm asking him to come here to the office to install the new system and get back online 'ASAP'  That's the plan - watch this space!!

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM SUNNY MANILVA;

A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY AT THE END OF A 'HELLUVA' WEEK !

SUNDAY 27th/ SEPTEMBER 2015.

We had a nice lie in this morning as the village is very quiet, the sun was out early and the sky is blue for the last day of my week of celebrations, the 'Chef' and the 'Staff' have had the whole week off! We had crispy  'Smoked Bacon Butties' for breakfast to set us up for the day ahead, we won't be eating our lunch until 4-00 pm!

This morning we are re-charging the batteries,taking things easy and getting ready at a leisurely pace as we are not going out until later; we are going to call into the 'Estepona H 10' Princess' 4* Hotel for a nice glass of chilled Cava on our way to 'Cocomo' for our Sunday Roast Lunch.All the details later.See the 'Princess' at its finest below;

We have just arrived back from 'Cocomo' after another perfect Sunday lunch sat under the umbrella's on a very hot afternoon ( 30 degs)! We had a glass of the House' Cava Rosado' as we ordered a Prawn Cocktail for Brenda and the 'Goujons of Cod Fillet in a Saffron Batter' for me.

For our main course we both had the 'Rare' Roast Sirloin of Beef ( 3 slices!) with perfect Wedge Goose Fat Roast Potatoes,Yorkshire Pudding and proper finger licking pan Gravy,a bowl of 'crisp' Mange-Tout,Carrot batons,Cauliflower & Broccoli florets with Baby New Potatoes on the side - homemade Horseradish sauce to make it the most spectacular Sunday lunch anywhere on the 'Costa Del Sol' - all for 12 EUROS!! A fine glass of Chilean Sauvigon Blanc & a Australian 'Rosemount' Shiraz helped the meal along!

We are in 'Heaven' after a 'Helluva' week celebrating my 70th birthday in style.See below;

Last night we had a very pleasant evening in Estepona, the town was buzzing on a very still and balmy evening as the sun set and the moon came out early; we parked in the underground two story car park along the promenade where you can choose where to come up from, we came up into the restaurant where we planned to have our last supper! " The Rada Restaurante' on Avenida Espana

I managed to book a front row table on the road side terrace for later, we then walked along to the Cocktails & Suchi Bar where we had two nice glasses of chilled Cava Rosdao.as we sat and took in the sights and sounds of a vibrant Estepona. See the pictures of the bar next to a very nice small 'Plaza' over looking the Mediterrean.

It was then time to return to the restaurant for our 'last supper' out for a little while as over the next couple of weeks I will be buying the new computer system!! The restaurant was busy both inside and out with mainly regular Spanish customers; the Restaurant Manger takes your order as the aperitif's arrived, we chose two glasses of the 'House' Cava which comes with very nice Green Olives and the 'House' Potato & Tuna Salad.

To start we had 'Tortalitas Camerones' which were perfect crisp and very tasty,Brenda chose for her main course a 'Brochette of Monkfish' served on a 'Timbale' of Wild Rice with two very large fresh local Gambas with a very tasty fruity salsa marinade, I of course had a 'Entrecote Steak' cooked med-rare with fresh 'Frits' and some excellent 'Aldente' mixed vegetables - see the pictures below.

Brenda's Monkfish was very tasty, moist and a huge portion along with the two very fine Gambas, my 'Entrecote Steak' was perfectly cooked and rested before the 'Sea Salt' crystals were sprinkled on the top - just like I do! I even had a little 'Surf & Turff' - thanks Brenda! A fine half bottle of 'Torres Vina Sol' helped the meal along, the service was excellent with good old fashioned waiters looking after our every need!

We finished with coffee and complementary glasses of 'Lemoncello' on the 'House' - which they leave the bottle on the table! A very memorable meal, we will return on another occasion.

Just a quick update on the sports front; Liverpool won 3-2 against Aston Villa,Manchester City lost 4-1 at 'Spurs' Real Madrid could only draw 0-0 against Malaga and Barcelona won 2-1! Lewis Hamilton has just won the 'Grand Prix of Japan' when he passed his team mate Rosberg on the first corner and led from start to finish, Sadly England gave the game away against Wales in the 'Rugby Union World Cup' and now must beat Australia to qualify?!
