THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM A VERY HOT& SUNNY MANILVA.

A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY  30th / APRIL 2016.

Just as I was starting to type & post the Blog we had a phone call from Jan asking us if I could a collect ‘ Charlie’ from their house as they are on an airport run and have some arrival time/ car problems, so I walked down and around to their house and he’s now with us here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ until they manage to pick him up later!

Its now very hot & sunny with a clear blue sky and no breeze, its around 24/25 degs and rising, the weekend is looking good, not a ‘Bank Holiday’ here in Spain, next week is looking good with more of the same and getting a lot warmer.

After a quick breakfast I shot down to Castillo de la Duquesa’ to the main studio’s of ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & online on the WWW’ for my second show ‘ Sir Malcolm’s Classic Saturday Session’ which is live ‘on air’ between 11-00am – 1-00pm every Saturday; it went very well with only one moment of silence when a track did not play when I pushed the button! I did three request’s for Tim& Thea, Anna & Terry & Alma, using the four screens, two mice & two keyboards as well as the large mixing deck, all of which is starting to come together, I’m also not using my scripts and just talking over the records, it can only get better, next weeks show is in the ‘can’ and I’m working on programme ‘four’ later! Watch this space and keep sending the requests in via our E-Mail or Facebook, for now, until my online radio contacts are ready, its going to take a couple of more weeks before the studio equipment is set up here in my office!

On the sports front this weekend over in the ‘Premiere League’ Everton are at home to Bournemouth, Liverpool are away at Swansea and Manchester City have to travel down to Southampton, over here in ‘ La Liga’ Real Madrid are at Real Sociedad and Barcelona are in Sevilla to play Real Betis; its the ‘ Russian Grand Prix’ in Sochi with Hamilton trying to take the pole, at the moment, sadly he has just had another engine failure and is out of the race for now!

For this evenings supper we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks’ cooked ‘ Med-Rare on a very hot griddle plate and garnished with Baby Mushrooms & Tomato with Asparagus Spears and whole Green Beans, twice cooked ‘Frits’ and a sauceboat of ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce on the side, tomorrow evening its ‘ Escalope’s of Turkey Breast’ served on a bed of savoury Basmati Rice with a creamy Mushroom sauce. See below this evenings supper!

We are having a nice relaxing weekend and have started to catch up with our reading now as the days get longer, our ‘Happy Hour’ is back on track and we are settling back into our old routine as Brenda gets back on her feet! Watch this space.

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM AN OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA;

A OVERCAST & GREY SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 29th/ APRIL 2016.

I was up early this morning to see ‘Reina’ back with us for the day as she was being dropped off first thing, I then shot out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, I stopped at our bank for some cash and then collected the local newspapers from the ‘ English Bookshop’ I then did the main shop in ‘ Mercadona’ before going along the coast road to the offices of ‘ Helicopteros Sanitarios’ to sign all the documents and collect our membership cards, on the way back I went along the promenade to the local market to buy some fresh flowers & wall plants, lastly I called into ‘ Super Sol’ for some English essentials.

This morning its grey & overcast with a stiff breeze but its still mild, 18 degs overnight and 21/22 degs during the day, over the weekend and into the start of next week its getting back to normal for the time of the year, warm and sunny.

After unpacking back at the house I shot along to the chemists in ‘ Calle Mar’ for Brenda’s prescription tablets and on the way back I popped down to our local shop at the bottom of the street for some fresh fruit and vegetables. For our supper this evening we are having ' Posh Fish & Chips' - ' Grilled Fillets of Hake a la Meuniere' with Garden Peas and ' Pont Neuf' Potatoes - ' Door Step Frits' Tomorrow night we have some very nice 'Fillet Steaks' and then on Sunday its ' Escalope's Of Turkey Breast' with savoury Basmati Rice.

Later this morning I'm working on tomorrows show, I've received some requests from all over the World, watch this space and listen to ' Castle Radio FM 89.2 & www,castleradiofm.com between 11-00am & 1-00pm!

Last night in the ‘ Europe League Semi-Final First Leg’ Liverpool lost 1-0 at Villarreal in the 92nd minute of injury time as the Spanish team took advantage of slack defence marking! The second leg is at Anfield next week! Watch this space.

We then settled down to watch the final episode of ‘ Line of Duty’ on BBC2 – it did not disappoint us, the three main interrogation/interview scenes were gripping and very well acted, the main character was charged with murder as he was ‘ fitted up’ by the corrupt cop in the ‘ Anti Corruption Squad’ – all the allegations, bluffs and suspicions started to unfold as one of squad went undercover and started to find all the clues to the murders and cover-ups by all the Council, Police ( Masonic ) and Celebrities as well as a surprise corrupt ‘CPS’ solicitor, finally the corrupt cop was brought in to be interviewed in the main office, guarded by two policemen with automatic weapons, eventually his alibi and lies were shown as false, at this moment as he realized that he was caught he nodded to one of the police guards who then opened up with his automatic pistol and shot dead the other policemen and then shot up the office!!

Unbelievable and very exciting, the two corrupt cops then charged out of the building through the streets and were chased by just one policewomen, the one that had been undercover, she was also armed by this time with a machine gun, she shot out the tyres of the car he was getting away in after shooting the policeman killer dead, in the end the corrupt cop from the ‘Anti Corruption Squad’ was shot by one of his fellow conspirator’s from the escape car, to keep him quiet, before he died he confessed and gave all the names away, at the very end the nasty senior policeman was arrested and charged!! The main character who was in jail, all the time all this was going on, was then freed and went back to work with his colleague’s. Are you following?? What a ending.

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM SUNNY MANILVA;

A STILL WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 28th / APRIL 2016.

Another early rise this morning as Mano was picking me up to go to the garage to see how the car work was going on, ’Reina’ ( Miss Estepona ) was seen back for the day by Brenda, later ' Chispa' ( Miss Manilva ! ) called in to see us, the new radio is being fitted and the new front exhaust part is going on this morning, all the small jobs have been done and I’m collecting the car this afternoon, we then shot down to Sabinillas  as Mano needed to check the oil & water in his car, I shot across to our bank for some cash to pay the garage bill, very reasonable, on the way back we called into the ‘ Road Fund Tax’ office, in the village next to the police station, to check out the paperwork etc, the transfer documents will ‘kick in’ this years ‘Tax’ - so we are all up to date, for now! In June Pedro is taking the car for its ‘ITV – MOT’ which is due, he offers the service ( Cheap!) and if there is a problem he can then sort it out .Watch this space.

Overnight a little breeze has come along, but its still very warm & sunny, it is has also changed the forecast as the threatened rain ( Artic Storm ) has moved on over the next few days, this means that we now have more settled weather over the weekend and into next week.

Last night we had a ‘Skype’ video call from Jack & Lyn over in Melbourne, it was early morning there ( 9 hours ahead!) – they have managed to book on the same flights as Norah & Jenny, from Manchester to Gibraltar, which is very good news, the bookings at the ‘ Manilva Green Aparthotel’ have been confirmed and the hire car is arranged! Watch this space for the 13th June!!

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the ‘ Braised Steak, Mushroom & Onion Casserole’ which I’m adding some grilled ‘English Pork Sausages & Gammon’ – I will then pop it into the oven and top it with some rashers of crispy ‘Smoked Bacon’! On Friday we are having ‘Grilled Hake Fillets a la Meuniere’ and then on Saturday it our usual ‘ Steak Night’ – Sunday is going to be ‘ Escalope’s of Turkey Breast.

This evening after supper we will settle down to watch the final special 90 minute episode of ‘ Line of Duty’ - which promises to be rather gripping and exciting, it has over 5 million viewers and tonight we find out all about the loose ends, suspicions, allegations, murder, bluffs and no doubt more shocks!! Watch this space.
