A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 2nd/ MARCH 2017.  “ WORLD BOOK DAY “

I was up first to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, ‘Charlie’ slept downstairs on the settees and ‘ Scruffy’ was in his bed and on our bed during the night, we took ‘ Charlie & Scruffy’ out for their first walk of the day and when we returned we all had our breakfasts, they all get on, in fact ‘Reina’ is always playing with ‘ Charlie’ – he’s very patient with her and just pats her on the head with his big paw! After breakfast we got the shopping list ready for tomorrow weekly shopping trip down in Sabinillas.

See below a picture of the ' Picton Reading Room ' in the ' Central Library ' on William Brown Street in Liverpool on " World Book Day "

We have another glorious day here in sunny Manilva, the sun was out early, the sky is clearing and there is no breeze, when we were out for our walk, it was on the sunny side of the street, hot! Sadly tomorrow and on Saturday there could be some of the wet stuff around and it’s going to be a little cooler, then over the rest of the weekend and into next week it’s back to normal, staying dry & sunny and getting hotter, watch this space.

See below some pictures of the Liverpool waterfront this morning with the ferry boat the ‘ Royal Iris ‘ – the Radio City Tower and the two cathedrals in the background.

And from the ferry!

This evening for our supper we are having the rest of the ‘ Lob Scouse ‘ from the other night, it’s now thickened up and even more tasty, it brings back memories of my ‘ Mums’ – she even used to drop off a bowl with the ‘Head Hall Porter’ at the ‘ Stork Hotel’ to keep me going! We still have the bowl and serve the Cabbage in it!! Tomorrow night it’s going to be a ‘Fish Supper ‘ – then its ‘ Steak Night ‘ on Saturday, Sunday is TBC, watch this space.

After supper this evening we are going to watch the new programme on ‘ Channel 4’ – ‘ A Very British Hotel ‘ – behind the scenes in Knightsbridge of the ‘ Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel ‘ – an old ‘stamping ground’ back in the mid 80s when I was down in London on business for the “ BHRCA “ – ‘ The British Hotels, Restaurants & Caterers Association’ – the boardroom and offices were just off Oxford Street and we had meeting in all the grand hotels around London. The Dorchester, The Savoy ( my favourite ) The Mayfair, Browns, The Goring, The Hilton, The Intercontinental, The Ritz, Claridges, The Grosvenor House, The Waldorf, The Connaught, The Carlton Tower ( another favourite )  etc.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
