We had a nice lie in this morning as the
village is very quiet, for our breakfast to set us up for the day, we had ‘
Crispy Smoked Bacon & Fried Eggs ‘ – the ‘ Campo Eggs’ are due back on the
menu shortly! Brenda is washing her hair and as you can see I’m up in the
office on the WWW.
Overnight the temperature’s have dropped to
single figures 7/8 degs – the coldest so far this year, the sun was out early
this morning and the sky is clearing, there is a light breeze making it still
rather crisp here in sunny Manilva, by lunchtime it’s due to reach nearly 20
degs, on Sunday it’s picking up and then next week is now looking dry, warm
& sunny down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – the threat of the wet stuff
has been blown away, for now, watch this space!
See below a picture taken at lunchtime of ' Puerto Duquesa' marina.

This weekend on the sports front there is
no ‘Premiere League or La Liga Football ‘ as it’s the World Cup Qualifying
Games, England play Lithuania and Spain beat Israel; over in Melbourne at the ‘
Australian Grand Prix ‘ Lewis Hamilton is back on the pole position! This afternoon
the ‘ National Hunt Racing ‘ is from Newbury & Kelso.
For our supper this evening we are having
the classic ‘ Steak Diane ‘ – ‘French’ trimmed, slightly flattened ‘Entrecote
Steaks ‘ smeared in Dijon Mustard and seared in butter, then taken out to rest,
the sauce is then made in the same pan by sweating off diced Onions/Shallots
& Garlic, sliced Mushrooms, a dash of Lea & Perrins and Tabasco, a good
spoon full of Dijon Mustard and then deglazed with a slug of Red Wine- reduced
and then a strong Beef stock is added, then the seasoning is adjusted before
flaming it in Brandy, the steaks are then added back into the sauce to cook ‘
Med-Rare’ – at the same time adding some Double Cream and chopped Parsley, with
on the side Whole Green Beans & twice-cooked ‘ Frits ‘!
One bit of local news; sadly at the moment ‘
Castle Radio FM 89.2 ‘ is only broadcasting ‘Online’ on the WWW due to lack of finances,
the station desperately requires advertising revenue to survive, hopefully it
will be back to normal very shortly as it’s the best local Radio station on the
coast! ‘ Sir ‘ Malcolm’s Classic Session ‘ will return!! Watch this space!!
Thoughts for the Day ; See above.
