We had a little lie in this morning before
the ‘ Birthday’ Boy ‘ was up to check out all his messages on Facebook etc! I
tend to still get rather excited by all the new technology!!
After our regular breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’
toast & tea, we sorted ourselves out for the day ahead, we are getting ourselves
slowly freshened up as we are going out at lunchtime, down to ‘ Castillo de la
Duquesa’ for our ‘ Sunday Roast Lunch ‘ at the ‘ La Taberna 2 ‘ as it’s the ‘
Head Chef’s’ day off along with all his staff! ‘Mano’s son is the new ‘ Bar
Manager’ so he will look after us, this morning I have just spoken to Mano, he’s
back over here with Anna, for a couple of weeks on business before going back
to the UK.
As we arrived Carlos greeted us and led us to a nice outside table under a umbrella, our drinks arrived and we then ordered, Brenda had the Salmon & Prawn Surprise ( filled with a soft Cheese) and I had the Cod & Prawn Fish Cake, for our main course Brenda had the Roast Shoulder of Lamb and I had the Roast Sirloin of Beef, they came with a nice selection of seasonal vegetables. For dessert we shared the Homemade 'Bakewell' Tart with double cream & ice cream. Everything was just right and the 'star' was the Tart, made by the owners wife!

they have arrived, safe & sound, and parked their car at the hotel ‘
Catalonia Puerto De Sol’ in the centre of the city, they are going for a walk,
as their room is not ready until 2.00 pm, they are then going to have a sleep
and get into ‘ Spanish ‘ time, we are calling them later after we return from
lunch.
PS; Sandra has just phoned us, so are Mobiles are connecting, they have been out for their first ' Tapas' lunch in the warm sunshine!

the temperatures have dropped a little making is easier to sleep, 16/18 degs! Next
week is looking a little warmer, in the high 20s,/low 30s,the following week when all
the folks are here is now looking more settled & dry, the threat of the wet
stuff has gone away, for the moment, watch this space.
See below a spectacular picture taken last
night looking up the River Mersey and out to the Irish Sea.
Just a quick update on the football

Yesterday evening we watched the first live
show on ‘ Strictly Come Dancing’ before and as we were having our supper, we
then turned over to ‘BBC TV’ and watched the 25th Anniversary gala
concert of ‘ Later... with Jools Holland ‘ – live from the ‘ Royal Albert Hall’-
with his usual ‘ eclectic’ mix of groups/singers, ‘Foo Fighters, Dizzee Rascal,
Sinhoy Blues, K T Tunstall, Camille and our favourite Van Morrison with a
backing/joint singer from the past, that we just about recognized, Chris Farlow,
( and the Thunderbirds) who sang “ Out of Time “
At the moment he is playing ' Loud ' - " Boogie Woogie Woman " by Joe Bonasmassa ! ' Lady' Brenda sent in a request !! He also played a request sent in by Andrew Charles, the owner of the station of my old favourite " Buena Sera Signoria " by Louis Prima, from 1956!!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
