A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 16th / SEPTEMBER 2017.

We all had a little lie this morning as the village was very quiet, overnight the stiff ‘ Poinente’ breeze has dropped, ‘Charlie’ slept all night and ‘ Bo ‘ has also been very good, they are both getting on with one another, when ‘ Bo’ arrived yesterday evening we has a surprise, he’s a very large ‘Alsatian German Shepherd’! – we were expecting a small dog! When ‘ Sarah ‘ described him she said he was a ‘  little sweetie ’!! He is but he’s also a ‘ big boy ‘ – he’s very gentle, he dosn’t pull when you are walking him and has a big appetite, we took them both out for their first walk, when we retuned we had our normal breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ toast & tea, we then fed ‘ Bo’  then ‘ Charlie’ later, ‘Bo’ is being collected later this evening.

See the picture’s below of ‘Bo’

This morning it’s still a little cloudy with a blue sky, the sun is just braking through, by lunchtime it will be in the high 20s, tomorrow it’s the same and next week is now looking warm & sunny, hovering in the mid 20s, normal for the time of the year, very pleasant and comfortable, also a little cooler during the night, watch this space.

The ‘ Bars ‘ along ‘ Calle Mar ‘ as I commented the other day are closing for their holidays, ‘Cafe Plaza’ re-opened yesterday just as Juan from ‘ Bar Castillo ‘ went on his holidays for two weeks, he re-opens on the 1st October, sadly ‘ Bar OcaƱa ‘ is also closed for two weeks, due to the sudden death of the old owner, he died yesterday morning, his son ‘Fran’ runs the business,  the burial/service is this afternoon down at the church, the normal timing here, within 24 hours. ‘ Nacho’s Bar ‘ ( Juan’s brother) was closed last week, meanwhile ‘ Bar Rojas’ with Susanna is open, but not on a regular basis, lastly the bar, two doors down our Street ‘ Bodegon Andaluz ‘ has closed permanently  as the owner, Andres, is taking a long break! His sister, Anna, runs ‘ Cafe Plaza’!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks ‘ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ – then left to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushrooms and deep-fried ‘Onion Rings’( dipped in milk & flour ) with the classic ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce on the side, whole Baby Green Beans and of course twice-cooked ‘ Chips’  See below.

On Sunday evening it’s going to be ‘Medallions of Pork Fillet’ cooked on the griddle plate, with ‘Breton’ style potatoes ( diced/boiled potatoes tossed with Onions & Red & Green Peppers ) and an assortment of vegetables.

Over here in ‘ La Liga’ this weekend Barcelona travel to Getafe and Real Madrid are at Real Sociedad; in the ‘Premier League’ Liverpool host Burnley and Manchester City travel down the MI to play Watford, tomorrow Manchester Utd welcome Everton with Wayne Rooney! It’s the ‘ Grand Prix ‘ over in Singapore under the flood lights tomorrow.

Tomorrow afternoon at 3-00 pm we have arranged to call Sandra & Bill on the ‘ Skype’ video over in Everett, Ontario Canada,( 9-00 am over there!)  for a final chat & catch up before they set off on their travels to Spain next weekend! It’s all getting rather exciting.

On Monday morning we are going out in the car for a ‘ Recce ‘ to check the roads out as we have not been to one place before that we are going to, also to make sure that the newly re-surfaced road is open out of the back of the village.

In ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ Charlie ‘ goes home on Tuesday, as usual we will miss him as he’s a great character and good company, ‘Reina’ is back with us on Tuesday & Wednesday

This evening we will channel hop and perhaps find a good film to watch, tomorrow night it’s the second and final episode of ‘Strike: The Silkworm ‘ – then on Monday/Tuesday we have all the new series to follow, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
