A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 17th/ SEPTEMBER 2017.

We all had a little lie in this morning before ‘ Charlie’ jumped on the bed to tell us it was time for his first walk of the day, he sleeps on the marble floor all night and moves around, yesterday evening after supper he had one of his ‘ turns’ - we give him his tablets twice a day – he suffers from mild epileptic attacks, he looses his balance, with convulsions in his legs, his eyes roll and he moans a little, Brenda gets down on the floor with him and pets and talks to him, keeping him calm & relaxed, he slowly comes around and after 30 minutes or so he’s back to his normal self, full of the joys etc! We then watch him very carefully as he gets back to normal, he’s such a lovely dog, great company and a real character, we will miss him terribly when he goes home on Tuesday, he’s back with us for a long weekend at the end of October.

After our normal breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ toast & tea we called Jack & Lyn over in Melbourne on the ‘ Skype’ video, they both look very well and are starting to enjoy the warmer weather over in Australia after a long, cold & wet winter, we have arranged our ‘ Skype’ video ‘ hook-up’ with them, while all the family is over here, on Sunday 1st October, we will have Norah & Jenny with us as well as Sandra & Bill, Deb, Lyn’s daughter is also hoping to join them, it’s going to be rather exciting, to say the least, afterwards we are going out for our ‘Sunday Roast’ lunch with all the folks to ‘ Kokomo’ Watch this space.

This morning the sun was out early and the sky is already bright blue, the breeze has dropped and as we were walking around the ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ it was hot, it’s very pleasant at this time of the year, the village is very quiet, the holiday makers have gone home and its very peaceful and tranquil, it’s hovering on the 26/27 degs mark for the rest of the weekend, next week is looking warm & sunny to start then going a little cooler with a few clouds around, back in the mid 20s, during the night time it’s down to a very welcome 17/18 degs, watch this space.

Next week our plans have changed as on Friday evening the ‘ Council ‘ have moved back, two weeks, the presentation of the ‘Foreign Residents Programme of Events’ in the ‘ Castillo de Duquesa ‘ to the 6th October, we were going to go down and then go out for a ‘Thai’ supper in Puerto de la Duquesa afterwards, I have now just booked a table at ‘ La Taberna 2’in ‘ Castillo de la Duquesa’ instead, where Carlos is the bar manager, to try their  ‘Sunday Roast’ lunch, next Sunday on my birthday!

I will be out on my travels for the weekly shopping on the Friday morning as usual, tomorrow morning we are out for our ‘Recce’ to check out the timings and road junctions for our final trip out with Sandra & Bill on their last Friday in Spain, this time,  we have no other plans, at the moment, watch this space.

This afternoon at 3-00 pm we are calling Sandra & Bill, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, on the ‘ Skype’ video for a final catch up before they set off down here to Spain and then sunny Manilva next weekend, it’s getting closer by the day, Madrid, Cuenca, Valencia, Granada and then the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ awaits their arrival!!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Grilled Medallions of Pork Fillet ‘ garnished with seared Button Mushrooms  accompanied with Carrot Batons, Cauliflower Florets, whole Baby Green Beans and my special ‘ Breton ‘ style Potatoes, diced, boiled potatoes tossed in foaming butter with diced Onions & Shallots, Red & Green Peppers and the secret ingredients!

Last night on BBC TV we watched a programme ‘ The A to Z of Later -with Jools Holland ‘ showing the past 25 years including all the debuts of various artists,  this evening after supper we will settle down to watch the final, second episode of ‘ Strike: The Silkworm ‘

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
