A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 19th/ SEPTEMBER 2017.

I was up early this morning to welcome back little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, she shot upstairs and joined us in the middle of the bed, as normal, ‘ Charlie’ then decided to jump on top of me, as there was no room, to let us know that he was ready for his first walk of the day, he’s being collected later today, we will as usual miss him terribly as we get so used to having him around our feet, as I’ve said before he is such good company and we love having him to stay with us.

After our walk we had our usual light breakfast before getting the day on the go, Brenda is popping down to the local butchers in ‘Calle Iglesia ‘ for this evenings supper, we are having ‘ Escalopes of Breast of Chicken’ which he slices to order after taking the breast of one of his fresh, local, Chickens, that he has delivered each day.

She also called into the dress shop and I have just been out to the local bank as she needed some cash for 2/3 new tops that she spotted, she has just arrived back with the tops( 2!) and a handbag also, at the same time I topped up my ‘ Pay as You Go ‘ Mobile phone at the ‘Tebacs’ ready for when the folks arrive from Canada!

See below ' Restaurante Maques ' this lunchtime, our table on Saturday 30th September will be set for six persons!

This morning the breeze has dropped and the sun has broken through earlier, the sky has cleared and we are in for another glorious day down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – the best time of the year – it’s due to reach 27/28degs later, tomorrow it’s going to be a little cooler, 24/25 degs and for the rest of the week and over the weekend, next week it’s going warmer and when will be back into the high 20s, watch this space.

See below two pictures of night & day of the docks/wharfs in Liverpool.

As you may have guessed we are going to have this evening for our supper ‘ Pan-Seared Escalopes of Chicken’ in foaming Lime Butter with a dash of ‘Balsamic’ Vinegar, with finely sliced Green Beans and thick-cut sliced of Baked Potato dry-sauteed. Tomorrow morning I will be making for our supper a ‘ Casserole of Sliced Beef Entrecote ‘ in a rich Red Wine, Mushroom & Onion/Shallots sauce, with Brenda’s famous Mashed Potato and a selection of local fresh vegetables.

We have no other plans this week so are taking things easy, the village is very quiet especially as the two main bars are closed for holidays for two weeks - ‘Bar Castillo & OcaƱa ‘ – ‘Cafe Plaza’ closes on a Monday and ‘Cafe Nacho’ on a Thursday, ‘ Bar Rojas’ opens when Susanna feels like it, also it seems that the small ‘Pizzeria’ in Calle Mar has not re-opened after the ‘Vendimia’ celebrations, it also means that our street is a lot quieter after ‘ Bodegon Andaluz’  closed, two doors down from our house, at the same time.

Brenda is going down on the bus on Thursday morning to Sabinillas for her appointment at the hairdressers for the ‘full works’ and I will be out on my travels on Friday morning for the weekly shopping. We are then going down to ‘ Castillo de la Duquesa’ on Sunday to ‘ La Taberna 2 ‘ for my birthday ‘ Roast’ lunch! Watch this space.

See below a picture of a tram in old Lisbon that brought back a very happy memory from many year ago when we ‘ Did’ ‘Lisboa’ in a day, with our dear friends Bill & Stella, we were staying down in the Algarve and I found that there was a train from the local station that went to Lisbon, very early in the morning, we set off  and as we approached a station near the end, everybody got off the train, we followed and found out that we had to go on a ferry across the World’s largest natural harbour, to get to Lisbon, along with the other 13 ferries from various towns around the harbour!

That was the easy part, as after a long day taking the sights, sounds and aromas as well as the local ‘Vino’ and food I had to find the correct ferry back, in the dark, to the train station to get us back up to the Algarve!! Did we make it, that’s another story!!

Last night after supper we watched on ‘ITV’ the second episode of ‘Liar’ – what happened to the alleged rapists wife, as she committed suicide years before, his work as a surgeon is also being effected as his colleagues turn against him, his son’s teacher, who he allegedly raped, ‘broke’ into his house and found a vial of clear liquid, she then got her ex-boyfriend, a beat copper, who is having an affair with her sister, to set up a raid on the surgeon’s house, he blackmailed a colleague, the liquid was in fact insulin! Are you following so far?! Finally at the end a phone call out of the blue to the surgeon was from a man saying that she had done the same before! This evening we will catch the third episode of ‘Doctor Foster’ over on ‘BBC’  Watch this space.
