A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 10th/ SEPTEMBER 2017.

We all had a little lie in this morning, ‘ Charlie’ slept on the floor at the bottom of the bed and then jumped up to tell me it was time to go out for his first walk of the day, he’s settled in very well, as usual, he’s eating all his food, he’s no problem and is a joy to have around, when we returned we all had our breakfast, ‘Weetabix ‘ fresh Orange Juice, toast & tea for us, ‘Charlie’ had his tin & dry biscuits, last night he had some of the ‘Fish Pie ‘ – he licked the plate dry and came back for more!

Tomorrow morning little princess ‘ Reina ‘ is back with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ – she’s back on Tuesday & Friday as well, ‘Chispa’ will be in & out, as usual all the time.

Tomorrow morning, first thing, we have our appointments down at the surgery with our Doctor, Natalia, for our six month review/check ups, otherwise the week is free, I will be out on Friday on my travels for the weekly shopping, we are expecting next week the Council workmen will start to take down all the awnings/decorations along ‘Calle Mar’ along with the poles etc, to be ready for the work to start on the new pedestrianization scheme of the street, as there are no more events planned this year and into the start of 2018, until the ‘Semana Santa’ celebrations over the Easter Week, watch this space.

The sun was out early this morning and the sky has cleared, the breeze has dropped and by lunchtime it’s due to reach 28/29 degs, next week is now looking very warn & sunny, reaching 32/33 degs by mid-week, the threat of the wet stuff has gone away and next weekend is now looking fine & sunny, if a little cooler, watch this space.

See below a picture of the Town Hall in Liverpool taken last night from the view down Castle Street.

After breakfast we got this evenings supper on the go, I marinated the ‘Leg of Lamb Steaks’ with Salt & Black Pepper, Rosemary & Olive Oil, I then prepared the ‘ Boulangere ‘ Potatoes, layers of thinly sliced ( hand-cut ) Potatoes & sliced Onions, seasoned on each level (3) then topped with a rich Chicken & Vegetable stock, ready to go in the oven this evening, the ‘Lamb Steaks ‘ are seared on a very hot griddle plate and finished in the oven on top of the potatoes, as they go crisp! I then made a rich Red Wine, Mushroom & Onion/Shallot Gravy, meanwhile the ‘ Vegetable Chef’ was preparing Cauliflower Florets & Leeks in a Cheese sauce, glazed Carrot Batons, whole Green Beans & Garden Peas. Finally the ‘Mint’ sauce was finished with Sugar & White Wine Vinegar.

A quick update on the sports results from yesterday; Liverpool lost 5-0 & Everton lost 0-3, both played terrible and could not defend, meanwhile over here Real Madrid could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to lowly Levente, Barcelona beat the nearest rivals Espanyol 5-0 as Messi scored his 38th hat-trick for them!

At the ‘ Vuelta a Esapana 17’ ‘ Chris Froome ‘ out climbed his nearest rival on the final, brutal climb of yesterdays stage, increasing his overall winning time, to become the first Briton in history to win the ‘ Vuelta’ – at the at the same time only the 3rd rider to do the double in the same year after winning the ‘Tour de France’ Today’s ‘Stage 21’ is from Arroymolinos to Madrid over a flat 101 kms, as he rides into the capital un-challenged, by tradition.

Last night we watched the start of this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ - after supper catching the ‘Last Night of the Proms ‘ from the Royal Albert Hall in London, this evening we will be watching “ Strike: The Silkworm “ – as the bedraggled detective ‘Cormoran Strike’ returns with a new two-part mystery, with the help of his assistant ‘Robin’
