A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 22nd/ SEPTEMBER 2017.

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping as the sun was rising over a sparkling ‘ Mediterranean ‘ – I had a quick mug of tea in ‘ Itzabar’ before going along to ‘Mercadona’ for our main shop.

I then called into the new ‘Steam Cleaning/Valet Garage’ – just along the road above  Puerto de la Duquesa, to book an appointment for next Thursday morning, they are going to give the car the full works including checking the oil & water, as well as installing some new seat covers, the ‘Limousine & Chauffeur’ will be ‘ Suited & Booted’ ready for the arrival of the folks down here in Sunny Manilva!

I then went back along to the far end of the promenade for the fresh flowers and wall plants before shooting back up the hill to the house to unload.

As the sun came up the sky was clearing as there is a slight breeze, it’s now warm & sunny and due to reach 24/25 degs later and staying the same over the weekend, next week is looking the same, getting a little hotter, in the high 20s, for the week when the folks are here it’s still showing a little of the wet stuff in the air, hovering in the mid 20s, so the rain, If it comes will be warm! Watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Fish n’ Chip Shop’ - ‘ Fish & Chips with Mushy Peas ‘ prepared by our own ‘ Head Chef ‘ ! He’s making a ‘ Cruzcampo’ Beer Batter  and using Fillets of Hake, the twice-cooked ‘Chips’ are hand-cut by the ‘ Second Chef’ and the ‘Mushy Peas ‘ come care of ‘Batchelors’ – with the ‘Chefs’ own-recipe, homemade, ‘Tartar’ sauce on the side with lots of Lemon Wedges and ‘ Malt’ Vinegar, if required!

On Saturday evening we are having a large grilled ‘Entrecote Steak’ – cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ then left to rest before slicing it into fingers ‘ French’ style, served with all the trimmings. Sunday is the ‘ Head Chefs’ day off as it’s his birthday, when the ‘ Second Chef’ will be joining him for a ‘ Roast Lunch’ down in ‘Castillo de la Duquesa’ at the ‘La Taberna 2 ‘

This evening we will channel hop and find something to watch, over the weekend it’s the ‘Ladies & Men’s Elite Road’ race's over in Bergen, Norway, at the ‘ UCI World Road Championships ‘ I will try and find the coverage to catch the racing, of course we are still having our ‘ Happy Hour ‘ cocktails before supper!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
