A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 14th/ SEPTEMBER 2017.

We all had a little lie in this morning as ‘Charlie’ didn’t wake us, too early, until he was ready to go out, Brenda took him for his first walk of the day, ‘Reina’ is now not back with us tomorrow as Daniela has a day off, she’s back next week with us on Tuesday & Wednesday, yesterday evening we had a call from a friend of Daniela’s, Sarah, asking us if we could look after her dog this Friday evening for a sleep over and on Saturday, it’s an emergency so we said yes, ‘Bo’ is joining us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’- he’s a small dog and gets on with other dogs so we are taking him ‘ unseen’ as Charlie’ get’s on with all the other dogs, meanwhile’ Chispa’ is away on her holidays, again, down at the families ‘ Campo’ Watch this space.

We had ‘Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ ( Half) – Brenda’s open on brown with mugs of steaming tea, we, at the same time, put the shopping list together as I’m out on my travels tomorrow morning down to Sabinillas.

This morning the sun was out early and the sky is clear and blue, there is no breeze so it will be by lunchtime very hot & sunny, reaching 33/34 degs, tomorrow and over the weekend it’s going to be a little cooler, in the high 20s and next week is looking the same, warm, sunny, no breeze and hovering in the mid/high 20s, watch this space.

Next Sunday, the 24thof September ( my birthday!) is when Sandra & Bill arrive from Toronto in Madrid, their  ‘ Birthday Card’ arrived in yesterdays lunchtime post, thanks! They are due down here with us a week later on the 30th September when they are staying in an apartment at the ‘ Manilva Green Aparthotel’ that we have arranged with Carlos, we are making a ‘ Skype’ video call on Sunday for our last chat & catch-up before they set off on their travels.

We are also making contact with Jack & Lyn over in Melbourne, over the weekend, to arrange a link up with them and their family, on the 'Skype' video, when all the folks are over here, this good get very exciting and crowded, to say the least, watch this space.

Brenda’s two sisters Norah & Jenny arrive on Friday the 29th September for their weeks holiday staying at the  ‘ H10 Estepona Palace’ on half-board, their transfer from the airport in Malaga is included, we will meet up with later that evening and then it’s a weekend of ‘ Gourmet ‘ dining, drinking and making new friends, how very fortunate and unbelievable, that we are to have found each other!  The itinerary is  planned with visits to Ronda, Gibraltar & Malaga as well as all the local places down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ We are very excited, all of us, and can’t wait to meet and see the folks for the first time.

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the ‘ Chicken Curry ‘ with Basmati Rice and twice-cooked ‘Frits’ –  (‘ half/half ‘ ) - Friday is ‘ Fish Night’ and Saturday will be ‘ Steak Night, Sunday it’s going to be ‘Medallions of Pork Fillet ‘ with all the trimmings.

We are taking things easy today and at lunchtime we are going up to  ‘Bar Castillo’ if it’s open, all the local Bars in ‘Calle Mar’ at this time of the year, after all the festivals etc take their holidays, ‘ Cafe Plaza ‘ is closed at the moment and ‘Nacho’s’ was closed last week, Juan, from ‘Bar Castillo’ is due to go holiday very soon as we asked him the other day, to make sure that he will be open when the folks are here in sunny Manilva.

' Bar Castillo' was open so we sat outside in the warm ' Poinente ' breeze blowing down from the mountains in the North, we had nice cool drinks and a Tapas of ' Albondigas ' followed by Juan's excellent ' Rosada Frito ' as we took in the sounds, sights and aramoa's of sunny Manilva.

The Council workmen have taken down all the awnings, lights, decorations & poles along Call Mar, it’s looks very bare, we are now watching for the work to commence on the ‘ Pedestrianization’ scheme, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
