We were up early this morning and after a
quick freshen up we shot off on our travels across to Estepona, we parked in
the seafront/promenade, underground car park and then had a fresh Orange Juice
& Tostada before the shops opened.
I had the full works at the Barbers, Manuel’s,
he styles & trims, then users a dry
cut throat razor, a cold wash & shampoo, dry rubbed and then re-styled,
finally he gives me a scalp & face massage. Brenda went along to the main cosmetics shop for her essential face
cream, we then met up and popped into the Jewellers to have some special
jewellery repaired/new studs fitted. Finally Brenda called into the Costume/
Jewellery Shop for a pair of dress ear rings.
It was then time to go along the ‘
Carrefour Hypermarket ‘ which since we were last there has been given a total
make-over/upgrade, I found the computer screen
wipes that I needed, down in the electrical goods department we bought another
fan, for the chill-out room, this means that I will be able to start on the
new/unused exercise bike, they were on offer! (Fan)
We then went shopping, the fish counter is
the best in the area, I bought a fresh ‘ Rodaballo-Turbot ‘ which was expertly filleted(4)
by the Fish Monger, we then found some goods that we have not been able to
source locally, including classic bottles of ‘Coca Cola’- the ‘ Real Thing’! The
fresh vegetables are excellent, we then ventured into the Wine Department and
purchased a very fine bottle of ‘Mumm Cuvee Rose ‘ for a special occasion, finally
we selected from the new ‘ Sushi Counter ‘ a small selection, prepared as you
wait, which we had when we returned, for lunch, see the picture below.
The sun was out as we set off down to the coast
road along the sparkling Mediterranean, the sky was already bright blue and
there was a little ‘Levente’ breeze blowing off the sea, in the shade it’s very
comfortable, in the sun it’s very hot, Estepona is always warmer than up in
sunny Manilva, over the weekend we are in for more of the same, next week is
now looking hotter as the days go on, watch this space.
For our supper this evening we are now
having a fry-up of last night’s ‘ Braised Beef & Vegetables’ – we are
looking forward on Friday to the ‘Grilled Fillets of Turbot’ – Saturday we be a
‘ Steak Night’ and Sunday is still TBC – possibly as Roast Chicken from the
local’ Rotisserie’
After supper last night we watched the
second-leg of the ‘ Spanish Super Cup’ from Madrid, it didn’t kick off until midnight,
at this time of the year this is usual, Real Madrid won 2-0 – 5-1 on aggregate,
Barcelona were outplayed and this morning all the Spanish newspapers are saying that they are in
for a difficult year in ‘La Liga’ as the
club in a crisis! Watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
