Well our expected lie in this morning was
shattered when the ‘Councils’ Water Wagon came down our street and parked under
our bedroom balcony! They then proceeded to wash down the surrounding streets
in our ‘ Barios Andrades ‘ before finishing down our street, it makes a lot of
noise as they pump the water through the jet hose, you can’t complain as it’s a
very good service and keeps the area fresh & clean.
The ‘ Council’ workmen are back repairing
the ‘ Natural Well Water Tap’ in the side street, hopefully it will be back in
action later.
‘Doggy World Heaven’ is quiet this week, ‘Reina’ is with us on Saturday
evening then she’s back next week for just two days on Tuesday & Wednesday,
the following week it’s back to normal as she’s with us for her normal five
days, there is no sign of ‘ Chispa’ at the moment – she must have gone on her
holidays down to the families ‘ Campo’
After our regular breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh
fruit, toast & tea I went up to the ‘Town Hall’ to find out what is
happening about the Chiropodist, Carmen, she has broken her hand and on
yesterdays Councils Blog-Page they had an advert for a new ‘Chiropodist’ – this
is a blow as she’s very good and offers a terrific service ‘ Free ‘ I could
only get the same answers, and no times or dates, she will be sadly missed,
watch this space.
On Friday morning I will be going down to
Sabinillas, in the car, for the weekly shopping - ‘Mercadona and then Super Sol
‘ I then will then collect the local newspapers from the ‘English Bookshop’ and
also some new glasses/tumblers from the main ‘White’ goods shop. I also need to pick up the dry-cleaning from ‘
Puerto de la Duquesa’ We don’t need any fresh flowers or wall plants this week.
Overnight a stiff breeze came along and by
this morning it’s still a little windy and now a lot cooler, the overall temperatures
have dropped by nearly 10 degrees, making it a lot more bearable, by lunchtime
it will be back in the high 20s ( 25/27 degs) - at the moment it’s a little
overcast, it’s staying the same for the rest of the week and over the weekend, the overnight temperatures are still on the 21
degs mark, next week is steadily getting warmer, watch this space.
At lunchtime we went for a short walk in the fresh air, we ended up at ' Bar Castillo' for a cool drink, I had a 'Tapas' of a Spanish 'Ratatuille' topped with a fried Quails Egg, then a grilled Sardine, fresh from the fish harbour in Estepona, Brenda had her favourite ' Rosado Frito' - again fresh from the harbour, it was fried to perfection, by Juan, dusted in flour, with Lemon wedges on the side, the fish was succulent & sweet, translucent ! We met a very nice English couple that are staying on a urbanization below the village, Mick & Beth, we had a nice chat and answered some of their questions, nice to meet you!
This evening for our supper we are having
the rest of the ‘ Beef, Mushroom & Red Wine Casserole’ – I’m adding some grilled ‘ English
Pork Sausages ‘ – with Garden Peas and a Baked Potato on the side, on Friday evening
it will be a ‘ Fish Supper’ and then on Saturday it’s going to be ‘ Steak Night’
– Sunday is TBC – we are fancying ‘Lamb ‘ Watch this space.
Still no sign of the ‘ Movistar’ engineers
to install the ‘Fiber Optic ‘ cables down our street to the house, we are
struggling, again, to watch on the ‘ Amazon Fire TV Stick’ BBC TV etc, when we finally get the ‘Fiber
Optics ‘ Lee is going to install a new System which will give us a much better
reception/coverage with more channels, watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
