I was up early to welcome back little
princess ‘ Reina ‘ for the day, she’s back tomorrow, she joined us back in bed
for a little lie in, then she went onto her duvet, ‘ Chispa’ has also called in
to see her friend, she came upstairs to the office/studio ‘ bells ringing’ as
we were on the Internet, sending a Facebook message reply, after freshening up
we had our breakfast of ‘Weetabix’ toast & tea, we then got the shopping
list ready for Friday mornings weekly visit down to Sabinillas, on my travels!
Today it’s a little cloudy, as forecast, the
sun is out and by this afternoon it’s due to reach 28/29 degs, the weekend is
staying the same and then on Monday it’s a little cooler with the threat of
rain! Tuesday is the same but then it’s picking up again, it will still be
around 26 degs so the rain will be warm!! Watch this space.
Not good news today as the ‘Pound v Euro’
rate is at its lowest in over 8 years, over in our English Bank Account, in
Colwyn Bay, one of our larger annual annuities has just arrived along with some
others, they are due for transfer at the start of September, into our Spanish
Bank Account, down in Sabinillas, when we will be very lucky to get 1-1!! Our
monthly Pensions transfers are also due at the start of the month. Watch this
space.
At lunchtime we went along to ' Bar Castillo' for a cool drink & Tapas, sat on the shady side of the street with a little breeze, making it very pleasant, we had the ' Rosado Frito' which Juan had just brought in, it was fantastic! Mano & Anna came along and then came back to the house for a good old catch up,they are flying back to England at the start of September and could be there for a while, watch this space.
Meanwhile over in a very overcast and cloudy Liverpool the cruise liner ' Rotterdam' is berthed for the day at the Pier Head, see the picture below.

Yesterday in the ‘ Vuelta a Espana 17 ‘
Chris Froome retained the ‘Red Jersey’ as he on the final 3.5 kms short climb
to the finish left some of his competitors behind, increasing his lead on time,
today’s Stage 6 is from ‘Vila-Real’ to ‘Sagunt’ over 204 kms, a hilly stage as
you can see in the map/route below.
PS; The stage on Friday finishes in the walled town of ‘ Cuenca ‘ a 'Unesco World Heritage Site' – famous for its
well preserved “ Casas Colgades “ or ‘
Hanging Houses’ – up the steep stone pavement climb, our dear friends from Canada, Sandra & Bill, have booked
a loft apartment in the village on their way from Madrid to Valencia before
they arrive down here in Sunny Manilva on the 30th September!!
At the moment we have no remote control for
our TV, the old one stopped working over the weekend, we have been using the push
buttons on the side for now, we are still able to watch all the English
channels as the ‘ Amazon Fire TV Stick ‘ is still working, Lee has sourced on ‘
eBay ’ a new/second hand one and had ordered it for us, it’s in the post, so
fingers crossed, it will work, watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
