A VERY, VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 2^nd/ AUGUST 2017.

I saw little princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, the last time this week, she shot upstairs and joined us on the bed for a little lie in before we got the day on the go, after freshening up we had our breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea.

Later this morning our friend Mick, the man with a drill and ladders, is calling to fix the three new wall pots outside the bedroom balcony, he’s just arrived and the pots are in place, watch this space.

This morning the sun was out early and the sky was clear and bright blue, overnight the breeze has dropped so it’s going to be a another ‘hot one’ today, the rest of the week and over the weekend is also going to be very hot & sunny, next week, you have already guessed, we are in for more of the same, watch this space.

Brenda is out & about on her travels, at the moment, she’s just taken the dog groomer, Anne, down to ‘ Chispa’s’ house as she’s is having the full-works today ( Chispa not Brenda !) – Anne has just come from giving ‘ Scruffy’ his regular groom, she also looks after ‘ Charlie’ our favourite ‘ Water Dog’ who is back with us in September for his two week summer holiday, watch this space.

She is then carrying on the Chemist in ‘ Calle Mar ‘ for her prescription tablets and then going down to the Butchers for this evenings supper.

For our supper this evening we are keeping it simple ‘ Escalopes of Chicken Breast ‘ pan-seared in foaming Lime Butter & Balsamic Vinegar, with finely sliced Green Beans and thick-cut slices of Baked Potato sautéed in more butter!

Yesterday lunchtime Juan finished re-grouting the main bathroom, it looks like new, he’s coming back in two weeks time to fix/repair the downstairs bathroom door jam and window that are buckling in the heat, he’s also going to replace some wall tiles, he will also finish off the main bathroom, as the Mirror needs a new Mastic seal and the floor tiles will have a different type of grout, watch this space.

See below a picture taken this morning of our old friend Antonio, who is 92 years young, he's been bed ridden for a long time but has not lost his smile, he's a real village character and we used to enjoy his company up at ' Bar Rojas ' - his family all live in our street and his father runs the local shop, were Brenda spends all her time!

We are taking things very easy at the moment, keeping as cool as possible, all the fans ( 4 ) are on, the windows are open and the shutter are up, a little, we don’t move around and drinks lots of iced water, all the time, in the afternoon we have a ‘ Siesta ‘ – then later a fruit ice lolly, it’s then time for our ‘ Happy Hour ‘ cocktails, over the past couple of months I have cut out all the soft drinks, cakes, chocolates and now crisps! The result is that I have lost over 11 kilos, I’m aiming to lose more and as it goes a bit cooler I’m going to us the exercise bike in the ‘ Chill-Out’ room! Watch this space.

Tomorrow morning its' going to be ' Operation Car Park ' - fingers crossed that the car park is open and the new system working, this will mean that on Friday, as we have no dogs in ' Doggy World Heaven' Brenda will be able to join me on my travels, down to Sabinillas, for the weekly shopping, she is going to buy a new curtain for the bathroom, do a little shopping and then after I've faced the holiday crowds in 'Mercadona' we are going along to 'Puerto De La Duquesa' to collect some dry-cleaning and then call into the English Butchers, watch this space.

Last night after supper we watched back-to-back episodes of “ In The Dark “ – a four-part crime drama about a pregnant lady detective, she has to face up to a unexpected tragedy when her partner, also a detective is killed in a mysterious accident, heavily pregnant, with just a week to go, she is pulled into the dark side of urban Manchester, with drug/gang wars, shooting & killings, undercover cops investigating police corruption, in the end, in a surprise ending, after she has had the baby, she solves the case !
