A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 19th/ AUGUST 2017.

We had a nice lie in this morning as the village is very quiet, no deliveries, no church bells and no children playing, Brenda had a quick shower, I’m showering later, we then had our breakfast, Fresh Orange juice, toast & tea as we are having a light Brunch later.

The sun was out early this morning and the sky is slowly clearing, we are in for another ‘ hot one’ later, reaching the low 30s by the afternoon, the rest of the weekend it’s more of the same and next week is looking very hot & sunny hovering on the low 30s, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having a large ‘ Grilled Entrecote Steak ‘ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ – then left to rest before slicing it into ‘ fingers’ ‘French’ style, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushrooms, with Whole Green Beans and of course twice-cooked ‘Chips’- ‘ Bearnaise Sauce & Dijon Mustard’ on the side.

I’ve ordered the Roast Chicken from the local ‘ Rotisserie ‘ in Calle Mar for Sunday evenings supper, we are having it with a nice Mixed Salad and a Baked Potato.

On the sports front this weekend over in the ‘ Premier League ‘ this afternoon Liverpool welcome Crystal Palace and then on Monday evening Manchester City are at home to Everton; meanwhile over here the ‘ La Liga ‘ kicks off this weekend, tomorrow Barcelona are at home to Real Betis and Real Madrid travel up to Deportivo La Coruna.

This afternoon the 21 stage “ La Vuelta a Espana 2017 “  starts in Nimes in France with a ‘Team Time Trial ‘ – on Sunday it’s a 203 kms flat stage before the race hits the ‘ Pyrenees ‘ on Monday, Britain’s Chris Froome is attempting to become the first ‘ British’ winner, he’s been second 3 times! It’s the hardest of the ‘ Grand Tours’ coming at the end of the season, it’s notoriously mountainous ( 9 summit finishes) Watch this space.

See below a photo montage of the Beatles, with Pete Best on the drums, playing at the 'Aintree Institute ' on Longmore Lane in Aintree, it was a popular jive club situated behind the ' Black Bull' pub, they played there on many occasions in 1961/62 especially on Saturdays, I was there in the crowd as it was only 5 minutes down the road from my house!   Happy Days & Memories!!

Tomorrow morning we are going across to the market on the ‘ Estepona Marina ‘ for two more Wall Pots, no doubt Brenda will have a look around the market at the same time; next week in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ little princess ‘ Reina’ is back with us for 5 days as normal.

I will be out on my travels down to Sabinillas on Friday for the weekly shopping, it’s the ‘Feria De San Luis Sabinillas ‘ weekend, then the following weekend here in the village it’s the time for the  ‘Vendimia ‘ Wine Festival, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
