A VERY WARM & CLAMMY SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 18th/ AUGUST 2017.

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, through the vine fields, that are already selling the ‘ Moscatel Grapes ‘ by the side of the road, I had a mug of tea & toast in ‘ Itazbar’ before ‘ Mercadona’ opened, after the main shop I called in the ‘ Chinese Bazaar ‘ for a new collar for ‘ Chispa’ – she has it on, it’s pink with a bell, you can hear her coming up the street!

I also popped along to the ‘Ferreteria’s’ for large screw/hooks to re-hang the wall pots, I picked up the local ‘English’ newspapers from the ‘English Bookshop’ next, I then shot along the promenade to the local market, at the far end, for the fresh flowers & wall plants, before shooting back up the hill to sunny Manilva to unload.

At Mid-Day we are going up to the Town Hall as the Mayor, Mario, and all the local Councillors are holding a minutes silence to remember the  tragic attack in Barcelona yesterday.

This morning it’s very close & clammy, the sky is a little overcast and there is not a breath of air, I came back like a wet rag, it’s very warm and by lunchtime it will reach 28/29 degs, over the weekend it’s going to be more of the same, next week is looking warm & sunny with a few clouds around, hovering in the high 20s, watch this space.

See below a picture of the Bay of Llandudno in North Wales, taken yesterday afternoon.

At lunchtime we went along to ' Bar Castillo' for a cool drink and Tapas, we had the ' Albondigas -Meatballs & seared Higado -Liver ' As we were sat Mano & Carlos came along and joined us, also there was three sets of local Spanish/English/Russian friends there at the same time, it's a small World!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Fillets of Turbot ‘ with Lemon wedges, on the side Garden Peas & Broccoli Florets with Baby New Potatoes in their skins. Tomorrow evening it’s going to be our favourite large ‘ Grilled Entrecote Steak ‘ with all the trimmings and then on Sunday we are having a ‘ Roast Chicken’ from the local ‘Rotisserie’ in Calle Mar,with a nice Mixed Salad to start the new health regime!

Our new mini ‘ Gym’ is now open in the ‘ Chill-Out ‘ room, we are starting our health regime on Monday, Brenda had been practising over the past few days, we are going to use the exercise bicycle every day, steadily increasing the tension & time, watch this space.

See the pictures below;

Yesterday afternoon we were looking through a large box of old photographs, we have lots of albums also, we found some every old pictures of us when we were growing up along with very old family pictures of the ‘Fitch & Sexton’ clans! We are sorting them out in time for when Sandra & Bill arrive from Canada at the end of September.

See below a picture taken on the steps of the “ Hotel Seventy Degrees’ in Colwyn Bay, it’s a later picture of all the staff, at the time back, in the early 80s!

We also found a publicity photo of me taken in 1967/8 as I was appointed the live-in Assistant Manager of the ‘ Bridge Inn ‘ in Port Sunlight, Brenda came to work in the ‘ Cocktail Bar ‘- the rest is history, we were married in the Church in Port Sunlight on the 29th November 1971!!

                                                                                              Honest it's me !!

Finally see above some pictures taken yesterday in Liverpool of the ‘ Anglican Cathedral’ and later from a ferry boat crossing the ‘River Mersey’ past the ' Crystal Symphony '

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
