A VERY BREEZY & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 11th/ AUGUST 2017.

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas, in the car, for the weekly shopping. The new Council Private Car Park is now in full use and everything is working, the doors open & close as you press the remote from the car! Brenda had a little lie in, as we are free in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ – she then showered and caught up with the ironing, I’m having one later after typing & posting the Blog.

I was first in into ‘ Mercadona ‘ for our main shop, I then shot along to ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa’ to collect the dry cleaning ( the heavy duvet)- I then came back along to the far end of the promenade to the local market for the fresh flowers, I also bought two wall plants, next I called into the large ‘White’ goods shop for some new glass tumblers, finally on the way back up the hill I dropped into ‘ Super Sol ‘ for the ‘ English’ essentials.

PS; We have just had an accident, as we were re-potting one of our new wall pots, the top bright coloured one, it fell off and crashed into pieces in the street below. We will have to go across to the Sunday Market on the Estepona Marina for a new one, watch this space!

The sun was out first thing this morning and the sky was bright blue, the stiff breeze has changed direction, it’s now blowing from the mountains, not the sea, out of the wind it’s still very hot & clammy, in the breeze is very pleasant and refreshing, by lunchtime it will be around the 26/27 degs mark, overnight 21/22 degs, over the weekend it’s slowly getting warmer, next week is steadily going hotter, back to normal for the time of the year, watch this space.

See below a picture of the ‘ Snowdon Horseshoe ‘ – from the left to right – ‘ Crib Goch, Crib y Ddysgl & Y Lliwedd – Snowdon ‘ with ‘ Llyn Llydaw ‘ below. North Wales and Snowdonia at its finest!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet ‘ using  breadcrumbs from the local Bakery, I shallow fry them in hot Vegetable Oil,  served with Mushy Peas & twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ – Homemade ‘Tartar’ sauce and Lemon Wedges on the side. On Saturday evening we have a large ‘Entrecote Steak’ which I will cook on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ –then leave to rest before slicing it into fingers ‘ French ‘ style. For our Sunday night special it’s going to be grilled ‘English Chump Lamb Chops’ with ‘Lyonniase’ Potatoes and a selection of Vegetables, not forgetting the ‘ Mint’ sauce!

Staying in North Wales, see below a picture of the famous ‘ Menai Suspension Bridge ‘ built by Thomas Telford, over the ‘Straights of Menai’ from the North Wales coast to the island of Anglesey.

This evening after supper we are going to find a film to watch on the ‘ Kodi’ film channel as our ‘BBC TV I Player’ connection on the ‘ Amazon Fire TV Stick ‘ is still not coming online, at this time of year some of the ‘Spanish TV’ Channels are also affected by the weather and the reception it not good, all will be resolved when the ‘Movistar’ engineers arrive to install the ‘Fiber Optic cables down our street to the house, watch this space.

Finally still in North Wales see below some picture taken by our friend, Nigel’ in and around Llandudno earlier this week.
