A VERY WARM, BREEZY & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 21st/ AUGUST 2017.

I was up early this morning to welcome back little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, she’s with us for five days this week in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ – she shot upstairs and joined us on the bed for a little lie in, she then went onto her duvet. No doubt ‘ Chispa’ will be calling later to see her and us!

After freshening up we had our breakfast of ‘ Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties ‘ with mugs of steaming tea, we have no plans this week, so far, later this morning our friend Mick is coming, with his ladders & drill, to re-fix the new wall pots, we are also waiting for our Spanish friend, Juan, to arrive this week to do the repairs to the downstairs bathroom and finish the grouting in the upstairs bathroom, I need to call into the surgery to make an appointment for some Blood Tests as at the end of September I have my six month review/check up with the ‘Prostrate Consultant’

See below the new wall pots up and secured this morning. ( Thank’s Mick !)

This morning has started warm & sunny with a nice fresh breeze blowing, the sky has cleared and by lunchtime it will be on the 28/29 degs mark, the rest of the week and over the weekend we are in for more of the same, getting a little hotter as the days go on, next week is also looking warm & settled in time for the ‘ Vendimia Wine Festival’ on the first weekend in September, watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the  ‘Roast Chicken’ with whole Green Beans & Parsley New Potatoes, the rest of the week we are taking one day at the time, watch this space.

Just a quick update on the football results over here in ‘ La Liga’ – Barcelona won 2-0 & Real Madrid won 0-3, this evening over in the ‘ Premier League’ it’s the clash of the ‘ Blues ‘ as Manchester City welcome Everton.

In Liverpool yesterday the ‘Round the World Clipper Race’ set sail on a breezy River Mersey, it takes over 11 months with 8 legs, all the crew are trained amateurs, with a qualified skipper, across five oceans to six continents, the initial stage is expected to take 35 days, over 6,400 nautical miles to arrive in ‘Punte Del Este’ in Uruguay.

See below the Clipper ‘ Liverpool ‘ as it set off from the Albert Dock on the River Mersey towards the Irish Sea and then the Atlantic Ocean.

Meanwhile the ‘ Vuelta a Espana 2017 ‘ Stage 3 is from ‘Prades Conflent Canigo’ to ‘Andorra La Vella’ over 158 kms, it starts in France, then crosses the Pyrenees in to Spain and ends in Andorra! A ‘ Climbers’ stage with three major mountains and a fast descent to the finish, Chris Froome is 21 secs behind the Race Leaders ‘ Red Jersey ‘ Watch this space.

See the route map below of today's Stage 3.

Last night after supper we watched the latest excellent adaptation, based on the literary classic by Thomas Hardy “ Far From The Madding Crowd “ – the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong ‘ Bathsheba Everdene’ played by Carey Mulligane ( Julie Christie ) with Matthias Schoenaerts ( Alan Bates )  as the ‘ sheep farmer ‘ Tom Sturridge ( Terence Stamp) as the reckless ‘ sergeant’ and Michael Sheen ( Peter Finch ) as the prosperous and mature ‘ bachelor’ – the 1967 actors in (brackets!) – a timeless story of passions, relationships and love, as well as the human ability to overcome hardships through resilience and perseverance, don’t miss it!!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
