We were both up early this morning after
another very hot & sticky night, ‘Prince Paddy’ spent the night on his rug,
then as usual joined us on the bed this morning, for his cuddles, ‘Comeboy’ has
settled in very well, he’s getting on very well with ‘Paddy’ and is eating
everything we give him, he slept on his cushion all night and then waited this
morning as we got ourselves ready, we then took them both for their first walk
of the day, down the shady side of the street, ‘Comeboy’ is into the routine
and has already found his ‘spots’ He’s a very friendly ‘ Lad’ and follows us
both, his tail is wagging and yesterday afternoon he ended up spread across Brenda’s
lap!
See below ' Comeboy ' waiting for his breakfast!

I then left them with Brenda and shot down
to Sabinillas to the main ‘ Medical Centre’ for my appointment with our Doctor,
Natalia, for my review/check up, all’s well – just keep taking the tablets – as
the Doctor says! When I returned we had our normal light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’
fresh fruit, toast & tea.
The sun was out very early this morning and
the sky is bright blue, there is no breeze so it’s very close & humid already,
by lunchtime it will be 33/35 degs+ . normal for the time of the year, over the
weekend it’s staying the same, if not a little warmer at times, next week we
are in for more of the same, hovering in the mid 30s,but with a slight breeze
keeping it just bearable, watch this space.
See below pictures of the German cruise
liner ‘ MS Amadea ‘ berthed at the Pier
Head in a rather overcast & cloudy Liverpool yesterday.
This afternoon we will be watching the hardest 'Stage 12' of the " Tour De France " over 176 kms from 'Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Alps D'Huez ' - finishing at the top of the classic tour climb, after 21 hairpin bends, with two very hard climbs before, yesterday 'Geraint Thomas left the field behind and won the stage and the race leaders 'Yellow Jersey' - Chris Froome came in 3rd after a classic late attack, leaving all the other riders behind, and is 2nd in the general classification, over the past few years Thomas has looked after his team mate Froome - the times are changing! Watch this spot.
See the route map below;
This weekend down on the beach in Sabinillas,
on Saturday evening it’s the “ Fiesta De La Luna LLena “ – the ‘ Full Moon ‘
party, with music, singing, dancing, drinking & eating – an excuse to
party!
Here in the village on Sunday evening we
have the annual “ Flamenco Fashion Show “ – in front of the Town Hall – on the
stage and walkway that the ‘Council’ workers are just putting up.
The ' Stage' is set !
Next week on Thursday it’s the village’s ‘ Saints Day ‘ – “ Dia De Santa Ana “ – with a procession of the Tableau, led by the ‘Manilva Brass Band’- followed by live music & dancing into the wee small hours.
At the moment the ‘ Council’ workmen are
putting up, slowly, the new canopy along - Calle Mar’- in time for all the ‘Fiestas’ - all the new poles have been secured, it’s
going to look spectacular, as instead of the dark Green old one, it’s triangles
of multi-coloured Canvas, forming a canopy of shade & colour, which will not be effected by the wind!
We went for our usual short lunchtime walk with the dogs and stopped at 'Bar Castillo for a nice cool drink, where we bumped into the ' Designer' of the new Canopies, he told us that they are going up along all the street to the bottom junction and will be permanent, at night they will be lit with multi-coloured small lights! Watch this space !!
The ‘ Council’ & the Mayor, Mario, have
just announced that the work to refurbish the outside of the ‘Santa Ana Church’
has just been agreed with the ‘Diocese of Malaga’ – to commence at the start of
September, taking six months.
This evening we are going out for our ‘Tapas’
supper as the ‘ Head Chef & his Staff’ have been given the night-off! – all
the ‘ Hot-Spots’ of sunny Manilva are waiting with ‘ anticipatory excitement’
to see which one we choose?! Watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
