A CLOUDY & CLAMMY SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 23rd/ JULY 2018.

Last night was very hot & clammy, we all didn’t get much sleep as we suffered, ‘Prince Paddy’ kept on the move, as I did, in fact I ended up upstairs in the main guest bedroom, which has a large ceiling fan, we are changing the fan in the bedroom to a larger rotating one,( which we have just tried and is not working!)- in the morning you have to peel yourself off the sheets/pillows!

I was up first to welcome back little princess ‘Reina’ for the day, she stays on top of her duvet outside the office/studio as I’m typing/posting the Blog.

‘ Plan B ‘ – in the morning Brenda is going down on the local Bus to Sabinillas, as she has her appointment at her hairdressers for the ‘ full-works, so I will collect her later and then call in and pick up a new one ( hopefully) as last Friday they didn’t have the one we needed!

After freshening ourselves up, we set-off with ‘Paddy’ for his first walk of the day, no problem this morning, keeping to the shady side of the street as it was still overcast & cloudy, with the end of a sea mist, as there is just a very slight breeze, also keeping it very close & sticky! By lunchtime it will still be 28 degs+ - the rest of the week and over the ‘Feria’ weekend it’s getting steadily warmer, going up into the high 30s+ Watch this space.

See below a picture taken this morning of the “ MS Queen Elizabeth “ berthed at the Pier Head in Liverpool.

After returning from the walk we had our usual light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea, we have no other appointments this week so far, I will be out on Friday morning, as usual, on my travels down to Sabinillas, for the weekly shopping.

Over the next few days we are keeping a low-profile, taking things easy and keeping as cool as possible, drinking lots of cold water, then from Thursday it’s four days of ‘ Part Time’ with the ‘Santa Ana ‘ celebrations, with the procession of the ‘Tableau’ led by the Manilva Brass Band, then later music & dancing, from Friday we have the three days of the annual ‘Feria’ – this morning the first of the fairground rides were being unloaded in the ‘Plaza De Las Vendima’ and the ‘Council’ workmen are starting to set up the stages in ‘Calle Mar’ Watch this space.

Last night after supper we went up to ‘Calle Mar’ and found a good spot outside the Town Hall to watch the ‘Flamenco Fashion Show’ – it’s a very special ‘ village’ night with all the families out to see their ‘Senoritas’- of all ages, parading in the ‘Flamenco’ costumes, one of our local friends daughter, Laura, who we have known since she was a young girl and is now a very pretty young lady, was one of them! See the pictures above showing the show with a very good ‘Flamenco’ group, singer & dancer.

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the ‘Roast Chicken’ which was not as small as we thought, cold, with some finely sliced ‘French’ Green Beans and twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ & a little Mixed Salad, the Chicken was very moist & tasty. The rest of the week we are taking one day at the time, on the menu front, as the ‘Head Chef & Staff’ don’t have a ‘ night-off’ this week, due to all the excitement of the ‘ Festivals/Feria!

We will be catching up with last night’s episode of ‘Poldark’ later on the ‘ BBC I-Player’ before this evening channel hopping to find something to watch.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
