TUESDAY 3rd/ JULY 2018.
We had a nice lie in this morning after a
very hot night, ‘Paddy’ spent most of the night on the marble floor before
coming on the bed for the last hour or so, he then waits while we get ourselves
ready, we then went for our first walk of the day, down the shady side of the
street, before it gets too hot, as we opened the door ‘ Chispa’ came running up
the street and joined us on the walk, she just runs along with us, with no lead,
and listens to me in Spanish telling her what to do! They look like brother
& sister when we are out!
When we returned they both had a good
drink, ‘Paddy’ had his morning ‘ treat’ and ‘ Chispa’ a chicken bone, her
favourite. We had our normal light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit ( Nectarines)
toast & tea.
I
then popped down to our local Butchers in ‘Calle Iglesia’ for the evenings
supper ‘Escalope’s of Chicken Breast’ as well as some ‘ Chicken Wings & Burgers’
for another day, he makes three sorts of Burgers, Beef, Pork & Chicken, so
I have one of each!
Today is going to be the hottest day so far
this year, as there is no breeze, the sun was out early and the sky is bright
blue, with not a cloud in sight, by lunchtime it due to reach 35 degs+ - the
rest of the week is going to be a little cooler, hovering in the low 30s, next
week is going to be a ‘hot-one’ in the mid to high 30s, overnight 22 degs+ - watch this space.

PS; The temperature over in Everett,
Ontario, Canada has just dropped by 10c – the folks are very happy!
For our supper this evening we are having
the ‘ Escalope’s of Chicken Breast ‘ which the butcher takes off the local bird
and slices while you wait, he keeps all the Chicken Wings, you can have them
plain or marinated, he also had his special marinated diced Pork( for
Brochettes) - two sorts of ‘Albondigas- Meatballs’ ( Beef or Pork ) ‘
Flamenquin’s - ‘Jamon Serrano/Cheese,
wrapped in flattened Pork Loin, coated with Egg & Breadcrumbs’– all homemade,
as well as all the regular cuts of meats, Pork is his speciality, with all
sorts of fat for cooking, that he prepares to order.
We are having the ‘Escalope’s of Chicken Breast’
pan-seared in foaming Lime Butter, garnished with Button Mushrooms, with Whole ‘French’
Green Beans and ‘ Rissoles Potatoes’ – diced Boiled Potatoes tossed in foaming
Parsley Butter, until crisp & brown all over! Tomorrow it’s going to be ‘
Omelettes of Choice ‘ with twice-cooked ‘ Stringfellows’ we are out on Thursday
for a ‘ Tapas’ supper, ( the ‘ Staffs’ night-off) - on Friday it’s a ‘ Fish
Night’ – Saturday is ‘ Steak Night’ and Sunday is still TBC, watch this space.
The ‘ Council’ have just produced, a little
later than normal, the ‘ Summer Programme’ of festivals, celebrations etc for
next few months, see below;
This afternoon/evening we are watching the ‘Tennis’
from Wimbledon as well as the ‘World Cup Football ‘ from Russia, as Sweden play
Switzerland and the later it’s Colombia v England, - the winners play each
other in the ‘Quarter Finals’!
On Sunday evening we watched the next episode
of “ Poldark “ as the good doctor saved a drowning miner, that Ross had dragged
out of the flooding mine, before losing his baby daughter, to a heart problem,
his ‘posh’ wife then left him for the bright lights of London! Ross retuned to
London as the local MP – to fight for the poor and the ‘ baddie ‘ George, has
bribed/paid his way back into parliament as an MP, again!
