A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON ' FERIA' SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 28th/ JULY 2018.

We had a nice lie in this morning, which we needed, as the last band on the top stage didn’t finish until 6-00 am!! ‘Paddy’ also had a good sleep, at the foot of the bed, before joining us for his first cuddles of the day.

After freshening up we shot out for the first walk of the day, ‘Paddy’ is very ‘ regular’ and has his spots as we go down on the shady side of the street to the ‘ Mirador’ The ‘ Council’ water wagon had already washed down all the streets!

‘Lex’ –Baby is joining us a day early due to a change of plans, she is arriving this afternoon and is with us for a week, here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’

PS; She’s just arrived with her day bed & night cushion, she’ still has her ‘ Cone’ on but has had most of the stitches removed this morning and the ‘ Cone’ can come off on Monday!

When we returned Brenda was on breakfast duty, ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast’ with mugs of strong tea, to set us up for the day ahead.

See below,

‘Paddy’ is eating well, in his own style, storing his biscuits in his mouth before dropping then on a mat and eating them! He also gets lots of treats, last night he enjoyed a little taste of Salmon!

Yesterday evening we kept things nice & simple, we took ‘Paddy ‘ out for his early evening walk and after our ‘ Fish ‘ supper we settled down and had our cool drinks at home, later we went for our late walk along ‘Calle Mar ‘ taking in the sights & sounds of the two bands – ‘La Bravissima ‘ (5) & ‘ Nuevas Ilusions(3) – later the famous ‘ Copla’ singer ‘ Cinta Merino’ performed on the top stage, see the picture below!

Today at noon it’s the ‘ Children’s Games ‘ in ‘Calle Mar ‘ ( See below )  – this evening it’s the ‘ Grand Parade’ of the ‘Feria Queens’ – which I will take some picture off, ( See above ) - at 11-00 pm there is a performance by the ‘ Municipal School of Music & Dancing’  We are now not ‘de-camping’ to ‘Bar Castillo’ as usual, as we now have ‘ Lex’ Baby with us!  More cool drinks will be called for back at our house! Then the same two bands kick off again into the wee small hours, we will keep our late walk with the dogs to the lower part of village as it will be a bit quieter!

We are in for another ‘ hot-one ‘ today, the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 32 degs+ - with a very light breeze in the shade, tomorrow on the last day of the ‘ Feria’ it’s more of the same, next week is starting very warm & sunny but going a bit cooler by Wednesday, with the threat of ‘ patchy rain’ at times?! Watch this space.

See below a not very good picture of last night’s “ Blood Moon “

The ‘ Council’s’ Web-Page has just announced that the new Mosaic Mural is starting to go up on the wall in the ‘ Plaze de la Vendimia’ on Tuesday, it will be finished in time for the ‘ Vendimia Festival’ at the start of September, watch this space.

Next Saturday it’s the “ Noche Enbrujo Festival “ taking place along the new ‘ Calle Mar’ – a enchanted night of lights, music & dancing!

This afternoon we will be watching the penultimate ‘ Stage 20’ of the “ Tour de France’ – the individual Time Trial over a hilly 31 kms outside Biarritz from ‘ Saint-Pee-Sur-Nivelle to Espelette. Hopefull Geriant Thomas who is an excellent Time Trialist will retain and keep the race leaders ‘ Yellow Jersey’ -  the first ‘ Welshman to win the Tour!

See the route map below;

This evening for our supper we are having the rest of the ‘ Beef & Vegetable Stew’ which is now a pan of ‘ Scouse’ after adding some more diced boiled potatoes! We will then catch the last episode of the Welsh crime drama ‘ Hidden’

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
