We had a little lie in this morning and
then got ourselves ready, ‘Paddy’ is such a good boy, he slept all night on his
rug/cushion and then on the floor, he waits while we sort ourselves out, we
then went for our first walk of the day, keeping to the shady side of the
street, with a very pleasant breeze blowing up from the Mediterranean, when we
retuned I treated us to my now famous ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ –
smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong
tea.
Last night as we went out for our last walk
of the day, along ‘Calle Mar’ we had a nice surprise, all the new street lamp
posts were on! Over the past two days the ‘Electrical Contractors’ had been
working their way along them, the lights are ‘White’ and the end effect is very
good and was being welcomed by the locals!
As I said this morning there is a very nice
cooling breeze, making it just right, the sun is out and it’s very hot in the
sunshine but pleasant in the shade, keeping the overall temperature down to 28
degs+ - 19 degs during the night, over the next couple of days and into the
weekend it’s going to be more of the same, then next week is going a little
warmer each day, as the breeze drops, by mid-week into the high 30s, watch this
space.
At lunchtime we had a nice couple, Katy
& Ruban, from Estepona, come to see us with their dog, ‘ Comeboy’ a ‘Portugese
Water’ Dog, they had been recommend to
us by a Spanish friend from the village, Marta, whose dog we had with us last
year, they are having to go away for a long weekend, ( 5 days) later in the
month and want him to be looked after, as he’s rather special, a ‘ rescue’ dog
with some problems, he’s very gentle and ‘Paddy’ was very good with him, so we
have said yes.
Well what a result last night; England went
through after a penalty drama ! As we were walking along the street all the
locals were congratulating us, coming out of the Bars, which is very nice of
them, I was also commiserating with them about Spain departure, as they know that
I have supported them for the past 12 years.!!
This evening for our supper we are having ‘
Omelettes of Choice ‘ – Cheese for Brenda & Mushroom for me, with whole ‘
French’ Green Beans & twice-cooked ‘ Stringfellows’ served in the basket,
tomorrow evening as the ‘ Staff’ have
been given the night off, again, we are going along to ‘ Bar Castillo ‘ for a
light ‘ Tapas’ supper.
This afternoon/evening we will be following
the ‘ Tennis’ from Wimbledon, there is no Football from the ‘ World Cup’ in
Russia until the weekend, when the Quarter Finals take place.
As were getting ready to go to bed last
night we noticed on ‘Facebook’ that over in Canada, Sandra had been at the ‘
York Dermatology Centre ‘ in Richmond Hill, having skin spots removed, by
freezing, so we called them on the ‘ Skype’ video, it was just right, as it was
mid-night here, 6-00pm over in Everett, Ontario, she was fine, just calling it
a nuisance, an annoying recurrence, for fair-skinned people! They were both
very well, Bill was just in his shorts, as I was, both due to the heat!!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
