A VERY WARM & BREEZY SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 12th/ JULY 2018.

I was up early, again, this morning to welcome back little princess ‘Reina’ for the day, she shot up stairs onto her duvet, outside the office/studio, ‘Prince Paddy ‘ & ‘ Chico’ spent the night on the marble floor, moving every so often to a cooler spot, just like us turning over in bed!

After we had freshened up we took them for their first walk of the day, keeping to the shady side of the street, down to the ‘Mirador’ – thankfully there was a stiff breeze blowing, this time down from the mountains behind the village, making it very pleasant and a lot cooler for all of us!

As we were setting off the ‘ Contractors’ workmen were erecting all the Trees along ‘Calle Mar ‘ as well as placing the new bench/seats, ( See below later ) - as the Mayor, Mario, promised, it’s getting there, just a few ‘Snags’ to fix, as well as the pavement along the terrace, we are still waiting to see how the street will be controlled/kept traffic-free, watch this space.

NB; Due to a technical problem with the camera the pictures will appear later!

When we returned we treated ourselves to ‘ Toasted English Pork Sausage Butties’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, with mugs of strong tea. We then got the shopping list ready for tomorrow morning when I’m out on my travels, down to Sabinillas for our weekly shopping.

This morning as were listening to ' Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the 'WWW'  I finally managed to get the correct answer to the mystery music quiz, a seven second clip played backwards, on the ' Breakfast Show' - it was the 'The Archies - Sugar, Sugar ' - the clues were, ' Sounds like a old Radio 2 programme & Double Sweet!  It's been on for three weeks, so Andrew was glad that I guessed it at my second attempt!

Yesterday evening ‘ Maisie’ came to see us with her Dad, Brian, she’s a beautiful ‘ Portuguese Water Dog ‘ ( from the Algarve) – a smaller breed than ' Charlie' who is a ' Spanish Water Dog,  she is very content & happy and will get on with any of the other dogs, if they are around, unbelievably, she’s a ‘Rescue Dog ‘ from the local Kennels, just like ‘ Scruffy, Paddy & Chico’  as well as some other dogs that we have had with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ – she’s coming for a week’s holiday at the start of August.

Later as were out walking the dogs, for their last walk of the day, we bumped into Brian and his Dad, Paul, coming back from watching the football down in ‘Puerto de la Duquesa’ with all the fans!  They fly home at lunchtime to England, a friend is dropping them back at the Bus Station in Estepona, as later I’m going across to the local Hospital in the town, for my appointment with the ‘ Trauma Consultant’ for a review/check up on my ‘dodgy’ left hand, last time they gave me ‘Cortisone Injections’ – watch this space.

Despite the stiff breeze blowing it’s still warm & sunny, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 30 degs+ - tomorrow and over the weekend it’s more of the same, as the breeze has taken the ‘ Sting’ out of the ‘ Sahara Heat Wave’ that has come in, across the Mediterranean, next week is now looking very warm & sunny, with clear blue skies, going up to the mid/high 30s – still inland in the low 40s, watch this space.

                                                                                     ' Brian, Malcolm & Paul '

On the sports front today; no ' Football' - just the 'Tennis' from Wimbledon and the ' Tour de France' Stage 6, from Brest to Mur-De-Bretagne over 181 kms, with a hilly finish, yesterday Peter Sagan, won his second stage of the Tour, he's the three-times World Champion'

See below today' stage,

This evening we are going along to ‘ Bar Castillo for our supper, as it’s the regular day-off for the ‘Head Chef & Staff’ – at this time of the year, we will have some light ‘Tapas’ as well as a ‘ Combo-Platter’ – with of course a couple of cool drinks, sat outside in the cooling night air, under the new lights & trees!

At the same time on the stage at the top of the street it's the Annual Music Concert by the ' Manilva Brass Band' under the leadership of Fernando AntiƱolo!  Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
