A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY - THE FINAL DAY OF THE 'FERIA.'

SUNDAY 29th/ JULY 2018.

We all had a very hot & sultry night, ‘Prince Paddy ‘ was on the floor before coming on the bed and ‘Lex’ Baby spent the night on one of his rugs! She is settling in and has a ‘ Helluva’ appetite, they are getting on very well and she is into a regular routine on our walks, after a very quick freshen up we took them out, on the shady side of the street, which had just been washed down by the ‘Council’ water wagon, after last night’s festivities, which didn’t finish until after 6-00 am this morning!

When we returned we had ‘ Toasted Smoked Bacon Butties’ smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong ‘ PG’Tips Tea!

We are taking things easy today as it all ‘ Kicks-Off’ again this evening at 5-00 PM, with two bands, ‘ Compas Flamenco & Nuevas Ilusions ‘ – then a performance by the ‘ Jessica Quinones School of Body Expression’ ?! – then at 10-00 pm it’s the final concert by ‘ El Kanish’ with rock & pop tunes. until a mid-night finish ( local by-law!) A large ‘ Fireworks’ display then takes place to finish off the Feria!

Yesterday evening I popped along to ‘ Bar Castillo ‘ to take the pictures, that you can see below, of the ‘ Feria Queens ‘ floats passing along ‘ Calle Mar’ – as I was waiting I got talking to two Swedish guys, Ulf & Richard, who have a house down in the ‘ Monte Vinas’ development below the village, it turned out that they knew our old Swedish friend Lillimore, who sadly died over a year ago, she had helped them buy their house years ago, we had a nice chat as we passed the time away waiting for the parade to come along – you can see the guys in the back of one of the pictures!  ‘ Tack Sa Mycket ‘

We are in for ‘hot one’ today, but overnight a light breeze has come along, making it still bearable on the shady side of the street, by lunchtime it will be 31 degs+ . at the start of next week it’s going to be the same before on Wednesday going a little cooler, with still the threat of some of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ at times!

See below some pictures of the ‘Round the World Clipper Fleet’ arriving back in Liverpool yesterday after a year away, at the same time the ‘Royal Princess’ berthed at the Pier Head, for the third time this year!

Also over in Liverpool this weekend it’s the “ Gay Pride “ Carnival, the ‘St John’s Beacon’ and ‘ St George’s Hall’ have been ‘lit- up’- see below!

This afternoon we will be watching the final ‘ Stage 21’ of the “ Tour de France “ from Houilles to the ‘Champs-Elysees’ in Paris over 116 kms, as Geraint Thomas is set to win the ‘Tour’ on his processional ride into Paris!

See the final route map below;

Over at the ‘ Hungarian Grand Prix’ Lewis Hamilton has taken the pole position with a ‘ Masterclass’ of wet-weather racing in the heavy rain.

At lunchtime we had a nice surprise on our walk with the dogs, ' Bar Castillo' was open and serving all the ' locals' - we stayed and had our regular cool drinks and some excellent ' Tapas'

When we came back I went for my normal ' Siesta '  - only to find that the ' Oldest Rock Chick' in the village was around at the ' Casa Del Torres' Cultural Centre, in the next street, dancing & singing away to a local ' Rock Band ' - she was given two hats for her dancing! I went around to find her and ended up joining in, before bringing home my very 'Hot' Rock Chick'for her siesta !!

See below;

For our supper this evening we are having pan-seared ‘ Escalopes of Chicken Breast’ in foaming Lime Butter, garnished with seared Button Mushrooms, with Whole ‘French’ Green Beans & the classic ‘ Rissolees’ Potatoes.

Later before we go out for our last walk of the day with the dogs, we will be watching the next ( final?)  episode of “Poldark”

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
