A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY AT THE START OF FIVE DAYS OF " FESTIVALS/FERIAS "

WEDNESDAY 25th/JULY 2018.

We all had a nice lie in this morning, ‘Prince Paddy’ spent the night under the bed, this morning he joined us on the bed for his first cuddles of the day, he then waits while we freshen up, we took him for his first walk of the day, down to the ‘Mirador’ – keeping to the shady side of the street, with a nice cooling breeze blowing up from Mediterranean.

It’s all happening in the new ‘ Calle Mar’ this morning, more awnings/canopies going up, ‘Feria’ lights all along the new poles, the sound systems going in by the two stages, the street was washed down and cleaned yesterday, all the Bars ( 6) are installing the extra bar-fronts, down in the ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ the fairground rides are ready along with all the food stalls,  it all ‘ kicks-off’ this evening with the ‘Election of the Feria Queens’ on the main stage, with their entourages, followed by a live music duo!

When we retuned we had our favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea, to set us up for the next five days of ‘Festivals/Ferias!

After shopping, locally, I went down to our Butcher to stock up for the weekend, then Brenda went along to the Chemist to top up our prescription tablets before calling into the local shop at the bottom of our street, it was then time to ‘ Bath & Shampoo’ ‘Paddy’- he just stands in the bath and is very good little man!

We have just had a message/call from a lady who has been recommended to us by Daniela, she has a ‘Podenco’ puppy ‘Lex’ – they are coming to see us in the morning, she could be with us from Sunday for a week, watch this space.

Today is going to be a ‘ hot-one’ even with the Mediterranean breeze blowing, by lunchtime it will still be 33 degs+ - getting hotter each day over the weekend, when it will be in the high 30s, next week we are in for more of the same, but cooling down a bit later in the week, watch this space.

This afternoon we will be watching ‘Stage 17 ‘ of the “ Tour de France “ – in the Pyrenees, it’s an unheard of short mountain stage over just 65 kms, climbing all the way, from Bagneres De Luchon to Saint-Lary-Soulan.

See the route map below;

This evening before we go out we are having for our supper ‘ Omelettes of Choice’ – as usual Cheese for Brenda & ‘Paysanne’ for me ( small diced sautéed Mushrooms, Green Beans & Boiled Potatoes ) with twice-cooked ‘ Stringfellows ‘

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
