A VERY WET & WINDY & COLD SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 19th/ FEBRUARY 2017.

We had a nice lie in this morning before getting the day on the go, after a quick cup of tea and toast we started on this evenings supper, 'Roast Shoulder of New Zealand ( South Island ) Lamb' The ' Vegetables Chef' has prepared crushed Carrots & Turnips, Cauliflower Florets in a three- Cheese sauce, whole Green French Beans & Garden Peas,  I made the large dish of ' Boulangere' Potatoes, I hand slice the potatoes & layer them with finely sliced Onions before adding a rich ' Chicken & Vegetables stock ready to go in the oven this evening.

The Lamb was studded with Garlic and roasted on a bed of seasoned' trivets' ( chopped mixed vegetables ) I then make the finger licking pan gravy in the old fashioned way by deglazing the roasting tray, a little flour cooked off to a paste before adding the rich Chicken & Vegetables stock, season to taste and finish it by adding a dash of Gravy Browning.

Overnight the rain arrived, as forecast, it was very heavy and didn't stop, there have been floods and landslides in Malaga, which is on ' Orange' alert - here we are on ' Yellow' alert for more of the same, it's in for the rest of day, over the next two days it's going to be cloudy, but dry, then the sun is back before more rain, the weekend is looking settled, watch this space.

' Chispa' has been with us this morning, in between the rain showers, Reina' is back on Monday and is with us for 4 days as we are out back at the hospital on Tuesday morning for my appointment with the ' Prostrate Consultant ' - On Wednesday the two dogs belonging to the Swedish ladies are joining us for three days, watch this space.

No sports news this weekend as we missed all the football & racing, except up in ' Alhaurin el Grande' today it's the finish of a five-day 'International Cycling Race ' around the region, its' a good job we went yesterday as all the roads around the town would be blocked off today!

This evening we are going to watch on ' BBC TV' the first episode of the new drama set in an alternate history of the ' Second World War' - SS-GB' where Germany won the ' Battle of Britain' and had gone on to occupy the UK! We missed last nights penultimate episode of ' Taboo' - only to say that there was more mayhem,torture & killing, all will be revealed next week!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
