A OVERCAST, GREY & CLOUDY SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 16th/ FEBRUARY 2017.

I was up early this morning to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, we then all had a little lie before getting the day on the go, after our regular breakfast we got the shopping list ready for tomorrow morning, Brenda then put a full wash on the go, I shot along to the local bank in ‘ Calle Mar’ to pay the water bill, when I returned ‘ Chispa’ had arrived to see us and her friend.

As I came up to the office/studio Jack & Lyn came online on the ‘ Skype’ video from Melbourne, they are both very well, in fact Jack is looking a lot better, the ‘ Oxygen’ is working, we had a good catch up with all their news, all the family are fine, Debbie is on holiday up in Cairns, staying at a resort in ‘ Trinity Beach’ next to ‘Yorkeys Knob‘! Honest!!

This morning, as forecast, it’s a little overcast & cloudy with a stiff breeze, the next two days are fine but on Sunday yet another nasty ‘ Atlantic’ front is hitting us, with rain and winds and going a lot cooler, watch this space.

See below a picture taken yesterday of the fountain below the church;

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Chicken Wings’ with a Baked Potato & salad, tomorrow its ‘ Fish Night ‘ and on Saturday ‘ Steak Night’ – then on Sunday we are roasting ‘ Roast Lamb ‘ on ‘ Boulangere Potatoes’

NEWSFLASH; THE ‘ MOFFATT’S ‘ ARE ON THE ROAD AGAIN !

Yesterday the folks set off on their travels again, North ( to France & home?) South ( to the Costa Del Sol & Portugal ?) West ( to Madrid to see Jo ?) or even East ( on ferry to ?) – watch this space to see where they end up.

See below the pictures of Tim on the road again, Tim & Thea before they set off, then the camp site they ended up on! Where?

Or Home ?!

Yesterday afternoon we were across at the Hospital for Brenda’s two appointments, she first saw the ‘ Heart Consultant’ –  ‘ALLS WELL’! – here heart rate is normal, her pulse is fine and all the tests including the ‘ Ecogram ‘ are good, she’s on a 9 month review in December, after more tests, to see the consultant for a check up. Watch this space.

Next it was the ‘ Kidney Consultant’ – ‘ALLS WELL’! – her Kidney’s are functioning a lot better, her results from the blood tests & X-Ray are better, all her levels are looking fine, the prescriptions are working, just a little adjustment needed, she says our Doctor, Natalia, is spot on with her overall ‘ Care ‘ – just a little improvement in the blood pressure reading are required, she’s to go back in July after some more tests to see the ‘ Kidney Consultant for a review/check up, watch this space.

PS; All we need now is a good result for me next Tuesday with the ' Prostrate Consultant '!

So we then on the way home called into the ‘ H10 Estepona Palace ‘ for a nice glass of their excellent chilled ‘Cava’ – the ‘ Lobby/Terrace Bar ‘ has been revamped, to ‘ Celebrate ‘ the results – the regular young lady looked after us with nibbles and a ‘top up’ on the house!

I then decided to give the ‘ Chef’ the night off, as well as the ‘ Second Chef ‘ – we went along to ‘Castillo de la Duquesa’ as a new ‘ A La Carte ‘ restaurant has opened, the night before, it’s called “ La Taberna 2 “ – its owned and run by the family from our favourite Fish & Chip Shop ‘ Marlows’  - when we first came down here it was open as ‘ La Taberna’ – they then rented it for the past few years to a ‘Spanish Tapas Bar’ – hence the new name  with a ‘2’!  See below;

We were greeted by the owner and seated in window table, the decor, place settings, glass & cutlery are excellent, there is new veranda area outside which is very attractive, there is a ‘Menu Del Dia ‘ at lunchtime, the excellent ‘ A La Carte Menu’ and on Sunday a traditional 1/2/3 course ‘Sunday Roast lunch Menu’

We chose for Brenda the ‘ Pan Seared Fillet (1 or 2) of Sea Bass’ resting on a roasted Red Pepper sauce, perfectly cooked & presented, I had the ‘Grilled Sirloin Steak Garni ‘ with a pot of Pepper sauce on the side, cooked ‘ Med-Rare ‘ as requested, it was very juicy and tasty steak and excellent value( see below)

As was the Sea Bass, they came with individual bowls of vegetables ‘ sliced Baton Carrots, Mange Tout & Florets of Broccoli & Cauliflower, Dauphinoise Potatoes for Brenda & ‘ Hand-Cut’ Chips for me, the only disappointment ‘ Frozen?!’ – or was I mistaken?!

The service by the young lady’s was very attentive, the owners daughter ‘Freddie Jade’ is in charge, the wine and drinks were very good and came in ‘proper’ glasses – we shall return.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
