A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 20th/ MAY 2017.

We had a nice lie in this morning as the village is very quiet, no deliveries, church bells etc, I then had ‘ Campo Fried Eggs with Crispy Smoked Bacon ‘ for breakfast, Brenda had her usual ‘open’ Bacon Butty, with cups of strong tea and buttered toast for me!  ‘ Chispa’ came calling and has been in & out all morning, ‘Reina’ is back next week on Monday morning for her usual five days.

It’s another glorious day here in sunny Manilva, the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue, there is a light breeze making it very pleasant, tomorrow it’s more of the same and next week is getting hotter by the day reaching the high 20 s by Friday, the night time temperature are also rising, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks’ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare ’ – then left to rest, garnished with Seared Asparagus Spear, Button Mushrooms & Baby Shallots, Whole Baby Green Beans and of course twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ on the side with ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce.

It’s the ‘ Chef’s ‘ day off tomorrow, we are going out for our Sunday ‘Roast’ Lunch, we are trying the highly recommended “ Restaurante Arroyo Honda “ on the winding road up to Casares, on the way we will call into the ‘Casares Golf Club & Brasserie ‘  for a nice glass of ‘Cava Rosado’ – watch out for the pictures and report!

We are taking things easy today, Brenda is washing her hair and I’m, as you can see, up in the office/studio on the ‘WWW’  We will settle down this afternoon and watch a good film on the ‘ Kodi’ film channel, then this evening we will channel hop to find something to watch.

This weekend is the final day, on Sunday, of the ‘ Premiere League ‘ over in the UK & over here in ‘ La Ligs’ – Barcelona are at home to Eibar and Real Madrid are down here in Malaga, Barcelona could still possibly win the title, depending on the result of the Real Madrid game; Everton travel down the M1 to play Arsenal, Manchester City will also be going down the motorway to play Watford and Liverpool are at home to Middlesbrough, over in the ‘UK’ Chelsea are the Champions but the fight on the final day is for the other top three place to be in the ‘Champions League’ next season, watch this space.

One bit of breaking news here in the village is that the three story ‘Council Car Park’ under the Police Station is being closed on the 29th – I’ve just checked with one of the Councillors and it seems that the car park has never been legal and doesn’t even have a legitimate fire plan etc,( over the past 12/15 years since it was built!) - work will commence to correct all the shortcomings, with no date for completion, they feel it won’t be a quick job but the intention is to get the works completed ASAP! One of the main problems is that many cars have been dumped there for years,

This will cause havoc in the village, as parking is very difficult now, I’ve also heard that a company will then take over the running and of course it will not be free, as it is now, when we first arrived in the village it was very expensive, the old Mayor, Antonia, made it free, I will check with our neighbour, Mario, the Mayor and from the same party as Antonia as to what is happening?!  We do have a  ‘historical’ parking space in a small square next to the Mayors house, which I’ve not used since we sold the Smart Car, I will try and re-claim my spot, Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
