SUNDAY 14th/ MAY 2017.
We had our usual Sunday lie in this morning
but then things changed, last night on ‘Facebook’ we noticed that some friends,
from ‘ Rhyd-y-Foel’ in North Wales, where are house was, were staying in a
hotel on the far side of Estepona, I made contact on ‘ Messenger’ and ended up
shooting across to the ‘Estepona Marina –
Sunday Market ‘ to meet them.

We have known Amanda since she was a young
school girl, she is now married to Liam and has a 2 years old son, William, how
time flies when you are getting older. We arranged to meet them in the main bar
‘ Reinaldo’s’ for a cool drink, we then had a good catch up with all their news,
it was then time to hit the local market, which is the best on the coast,
Brenda found a new white belt and then a pair of very nice white sandals, I treated
myself to new Black Leather Wallet, finally on the excellent bright coloured ‘Pottery
Stall’ I spotted two beautiful ‘Hanging Wall Pots!

We then had a very nice ‘ Tapas’ lunch in
one of the many bars on the front of the Marina, with the market along the sea
wall, we caught up with all the North Wales news, Liam is a Policeman in
Llandudno and so knows a lot of our hotel friends, as well as friends husband
who is also a Policeman – it’s a small world! The folks all had a selection of
Tapas but for a change I had a very nice ‘ Club Sandwich – Spanish Style’ with ‘Frits’
as you can see below in the pictures;
The sun was out early this morning and the
sky was bright blue as we got up, there is now no ‘ Terral’ breeze so it was
already warm as we set off and by lunchtime over in Estepona it was hot, it
looks like we are in for a hot week ahead. In the mid & high 20 s, watch
this space.

Just a quick update on the sports results;
Manchester City won 2-1, the other games over in the ‘UK’ & here are all
later today, Liverpool has just won 0-4! Lewis Hamilton has just won the ‘ Spanish Grand Prix ‘ in
Barcelona, meanwhile in Madrid in the ‘ Open Tennis’ Rapael Nadal ended his
losing run against Novak Djokovic , for the first time in three years, to reach
the final.
This evening for our supper we are now
having ‘ Grilled Chicken Wings’ with twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ and a Mixed Salad,
next week’s menus will be planned tomorrow morning after Brenda returns from
the surgery, she is going early to see our Doctor, Natalia, as she has a very
painful and swollen hand.
Last night after supper we watched a very
interesting movie ‘ Women in Gold’ with
Helen Mirren & Ryan Reynolds, a true story about an elderly Jewish refugee
living in the USA, who, together with her young lawyer fought the Austrian Government,
for almost a decade, to reclaim a ‘ Gustav Klint ‘ iconic painting of her Aunt,
that was stolen from her relatives by the Nazis in Vienna just prior to WW2.
We then caught the end of the ‘ Eurovision
Song Contest’ from Kiev with the new exciting ending of the votes from the
public, Portugal won for the first time in over 57 years of trying!
In ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ next week ‘ Reina’
is back with us for her regular five days, then later I’m taking the car down to our
local garage to have the final job finished, a new electric motor for one of the rear
window’s, we have no other appointments or plans, at the moment, I will be out
on my travels on Friday morning down in Sabinillas for the weekly shopping.
