A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 6th/ MAY 2017.

We had a nice lie in this morning as the village is very quiet, no deliveries or church bells and we have a ‘ Doggy-Free ‘ weekend, ‘Reina’ is back with us on Monday, as usual, for five days, for our breakfast we had a ‘ treat’ of ‘Crispy Smoked Bacon & ‘ Campo’ Fried Eggs’ with buttered toast and mugs of strong tea.

The sun broke through early this morning and the sky is bright blue, there is a light breeze which is due to drop later, by lunchtime it’s due to reach the heady heights of 26 degs, more tomorrow and then the start of next week is similar, on Thursday & Friday the wet stuff is back, next weekend will be back to normal for the time of the year, hot & sunny, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks ‘ cooked on a very hot griddle plate  ‘Med-Rare’ – then left to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms & sauteed Baby Shallots, finely sliced green Beans and of course twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ – Dijon Mustard on the side; on Sunday evening it’s a ‘ Roast Leg of New Zealand, South Island, Lamb’ with all the trimmings including ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes.

On the sports front this weekend; over in the ‘ Premiere League ‘ Manchester City are at home to Crystal Palace, Everton travels down to Swansea and on Sunday Liverpool welcome Southampton; here in ‘ La Liga’ today, Barcelona welcome Villarreal and Real Madrid travel down to Granada, it’s now the ‘ Flat Racing’ season which I don’t follow and next weekend it’s the ‘ Spanish Grand Prix ‘ in Barcelona.

We are taking things very easy today, basically doing nothing, because we can! I’m just about to have a nice shave & shower, Brenda is mopping around the house, at lunchtime we are going out for a light ‘ Tapas ‘ lunch sat in the warm sunshine and before we are going for a walk around the village and will end up at the sports ground complex.

See the picture blog above as we made our way around the village, the new ' feature' at the top of Calle Mar, around the back of the football stadium, the ' Feria del Perro' ( Dog Fair ) by the sports Pavillion, 'Plaza Pozo del Rey ' above the church, the 'Spring' water fountain square in front of the 'Pensioners Hall' and then up Calle Inglaise to ' Bar Castillo ' - for ' Boquerones ' ( Whitebaite ) & Tortiltas de Camerones - ( Shrimp Fritters ) - the new  Lady Dentists and finally the ' Ice Cream ' cafe!

This evening after supper we will channel hop to find a film to watch using the translate button on the TV, we are very excited and looking forward to tomorrow when Lee is coming to install the new ‘ Amazon Fire TV Stick’ with all the add-ons that Daniela installed before she went on her ‘ girlie ‘ weekend, Lee is then joining us for supper.
