A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA WITH A LITTLE BREEZE ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 29th/ MAY 2017.  “ WHIT BANK HOLIDAY IN THE UK “

We had a nice lie in this morning as ‘Reina’ is not with us, it’s the ‘Bank Holiday’ in Gibraltar, she’s back tomorrow for four days as usual, Lee will drop her off as Daniela is over in the UK on business. After freshening up we started the week with ‘ Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties ‘ smothered in ‘ HP’ Sauce ( open for Brenda!) with mugs of hot, strong tea.

See below a picture of sunny Manilva taken from the air.

We then had our planning meeting the for the weeks menu’s, tonight we are having Pan-Grilled Homemade ( Butchers) ‘ Beef Burgers ‘ garnished with the full works with ‘ Stringfellow ‘ Frits ( Hand-Cut by Brenda!) Tuesday is going to be Escalope’s of Chicken Breast, then on Wednesday I will pop down to the butchers for some of his excellent Marinated Diced Pork for my special ‘Brochettes’- Thursday will be a leftovers day, Friday is ‘ Fish ‘ night.

The sun broke through this morning, the sky has cleared as there is a light breeze, making it very pleasant, the week ahead is also looking warm & sunny and over the weekend we are in for more fine weather when we are up in ' Alhaurin el Grande' - watch this space.

See below a picture of the ' Albert & Canning Docks ' over in Liverpool yesterday.

This week I have an appointment down at the surgery tomorrow morning with our Doctor, Natalia, for the results of my six month check up/review, on Wednesday morning the  ‘Painters& Decorators’ are due to arrive for two days to work on the damp/ water damage in the various rooms, as usual, on Friday morning I will be out on my travels down in Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, then on Saturday we are going up to Alhaurin el Grande , for the day, to see our very dear friend Joyce ‘Baby’ – Sunday will be a rest and recuperation day!

Our historical spot in the small square next to the Mayors house has been taken by a neighbour, with her large Black Mercedes, while were out, - ‘ Dog Eat Dog ‘ time,  the underground car park is now closed, see below, the village is ‘chocker-bloc’- I found a spot on the main street in front of the Police Station, watch this space.

                                                             “ Kokomo “ Restaurant on Sunday afternoon;

We collected Kevin & Caroline from their apartment bloc down in Sabinillas at 2-00 pm and then shot along the coast road to Estepona, after parking we had a very nice glass of the chilled, house ‘Cava Rosado’ with a strawberry garnish, as we sat on the promenade front, in the ‘ Champagne & Suchi ‘  taking in the sights & sounds,  it was then time to carry on to our favourite restaurant ‘ Kokomo ‘ for their excellent ‘ Sunday Roast Lunch ‘

We were greeted and shown to a very nice table on the balcony overlooking the garden, it was just right on a very close & warm day, it pays to be known, we started with glasses of their excellent chilled ‘Cava Rosado ‘ – also garnished with strawberries, we chose for our starters the Chilled Melon with Iberico Ham topped with a ‘Gazpacho’ Sorbet and Prawn Cocktails, mine topped with Smoked Salmon, we all had the Roast Sirloin of Beef ( three slices )  ‘ Med-Rare’ resting on Goose Fat Roast Potatoes with the very tasty ‘ Jus Roti’ – a Medley of Vegetables on the side, see the pictures below on yesterdays Blog.

I choose a bottle of their excellent ‘ Chilian Sauvignon Blanc’ to start and then Brenda & Kevin had two large glasses of a very rich Rioja ‘ the Rosemount Estate Shiraz was not available. The singer sang some requests for Caroline’s birthday, as we sat in the cool shade on a perfect afternoon, on the way back we called in the “ H10 Estepona Palace “ also a favourite of Kevin & Caroline’s, for a nice cool drink sat on the spectacular terrace,  where the friendly 'Cocktail Barman' warmly greeted us,we had a lovely day as we exchanged stories, they are excellent company, as we caught up with one/another’s news etc, the folks are travelling back to Brighton on Wednesday, we are already looking forward to seeing them on their next visit, we dropped them back at their apartment at around 8-00 pm!

When we came back to the house we crashed out in front of the TV for the rest of the evening.

PS; We have just had a postcard from our friends Kelvin & Gaye on a short break in the ' Cotswolds ' Keep them coming when you are away or at home!!
