A WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 19th/ SEPTEMBER 2014.

No sign of any of the wet stuff as forecast for today as we shot down to the local market for some fresh flowers after a quick breakfast; its warm and sunny Manilva at its best but its still possible that it will come back over the weekend – watch this space!

We then carried on down to Sabinillas and picked up the papers from the bookshop before our regular weekly shop at ‘Mercadona’ After unloading I shot around to the butchers for our Saturday night ‘Steak Chispa’ has been here all morning playing around our feet and going down to our local shop in the street with Brenda.

Andy called in at noon and helped me sort out both PCs; we cleared a lot files and history, closed some unwanted files and downloaded the picture files to the hard drive, it’s cleared the memories and everything it a lot faster now! Thanks Andy!

So tonight we are having ‘Hake Filets’ which are our favorite at the moment, they have a great flavor and they poach and stay firm, so they are ideal for tonight’s classic dish of ‘Hake Duglere’ I will make the sauce this evening with finely chopped Shallots, Tomato Concasse, a good slug of Brenda’s White Wine, a fish/veloute stock, seasonings to taste and finished with a dash of Cream and lots of chopped Parsley ( Brenda!); we are having Saffron New Potatoes and Garden Peas.

After supper we will find a film to watch, last night a bit later on I watched another live concert from the ‘Jazz San Javier Festival’- this one was modern jazz which I’m not a great favorite of but the musicology?! of the players was spectacular; Lee Ritenour on guitar,Dave Grusin on piano/keyboards together with the double bass player and the drummer with a very large kit – when they did ‘Solos’ it was mesmerizing!

Thought for the Day See above.
