A STILL WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 28th/ SEPTEMBER 2014.

A nice lie was called for this morning and that’s exactly what we did! Overnight we had a few showers but the forecast for today and into next week is dry with a little breeze but the sun will be out and the temperatures will hover on the 24/25degs mark.

So this morning for breakfast I treated us to fried Campo Eggs with crisp Smoked Bacon to finish off the week of celebrations as we started! Chefs day off today so no roasting, later I will walk to the ‘Rotisserie Shop and pick up a whole Spit- Roasted Chicken for supper which we will have with a Mixed salad.

Next week here in’ Doggy World Heaven’ little princess ‘Reina’ is with us on Tuesday & Thursday and we are waiting to hear when ‘Scruffy’ will be back with us, meanwhile ‘Chispa’ comes calling most mornings and evenings, she’s here at the moment running in and out and playing in the street with the small children opposite.

Brenda is just about to shampoo and wash her hair as I’m typing the Blog; we have no plans for next week, so far, so it’s back to the old routine for now! Talking of which the ‘Queen of Skelton’ has returned to her winter ‘Palace’ on Thursday from Donegal and the highlight of her and her ‘Consorts’ weekend was when they went across to the local ‘All Saints’ church in the village and took some ‘Rubbings?!’ of the ‘Emmeron ?!’ headstones! They have also been ‘Ridge’ walking at the ‘Old Alum Mines’ – all this is called living on the ‘Dangerous’ side of life in Skelton!! Enjoy – as they say whatever makes you happy!!

On the menu front next weeks the main classic ‘Dish of the Day will be on Wednesday when I’m going to prepare and cook my own special version/recipe of good old “Lancashire Hot Pot” with lots of pickled local Red Cabbage, I will use local Spanish Lamb Chuletas – Cutlets’ and two English Lamb steaks that I have been saving for the right occasion! The difference in my recipe is that I use lots of vegetables in the layers of finely sliced, by hand, Potatoes & Onions!

On the sports front at the moment on the TDP Sports Channel they are showing the ‘Men’s Elite Road Race’ from the “ World Championships” in Ponferrada, it’s a 254kms circuit race over so 14 laps, yesterday  in the Women’s race the two main contenders England’s Lizzie Armistead and Holland’s Marianne Vos, the multi winning Champion, were in the lead on the final 500mtrs but made the classic ‘Beginners’ mistake of watching one another and were overtaken by the pelaton(pack) and the young French rider Pauline Prevet took the ‘Rainbow’ winners jersey!

In the 'Aragon Motor GP' it was very exciting when the conditions changed from dry to wet,this means that the riders can come into the pits and change bikes, so they go back out on wet tires,not on slick dry ones! Lorenzo won when Marquez stayed on dry tires and slipped off !

Last night after watching the news, sports highlights and weather forecast we channel hopped and watched nothing in particular!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
