A STILL VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 15th/ SEPTEMBER 2014.

The street cleaning machine woke us up this morning, you can’t complain as the council does keep the village very clean and tidy; today it’s already very hot and by this afternoon it will be 32degs and rising! ‘Chispa’ joined us for a little walk, as you can see in the pictures above, we ended up at the ‘Manilva TV Station’ to say thank you/gracias to Belen the presenter for the interview which appeared on the TV last night, they are going to produce a copy to a memory stick for us!See the picture below taken off the TV this evening as it was repeated due to demand!!

As we were having our usual breakfast we sorted out the menus for the week ahead, tonight we are having ‘English Pork Sausages’ served on Brenda’s famous Mashed Potato with Cabbage & local fresh Aselgas, I’ve just made a rich ‘Red Wine Onion Gravy’ thanks to a large slug of Brenda’s drinking wine and using sliced Baby Shallots and local Onions from our neighbors Campo garden!

Then tomorrow we are having ‘Chicken Schnitzels’ and on Wednesday possibly ‘Albondigas – Meatballs’ followed by Omelet on Thursday and Hake in ‘Cruz Campo’ Beer batter on Friday. Saturday night its Steak and possibly on Sunday our first ‘Roast’ for a while!

Yesterday evening we watched the end of this years ‘Vuelta’ live from ‘Santiago De Compostela’ as Alberto Contador won it for the third time in is career,see the picture below.

Then last night after supper we caught a rather gory American science fiction action thriller “Death Race” from 2008 with Jason Statham, is it me or can nobody understand/hear what he is saying?! Joan Allen and Ian McShane also star in this movie which has lots of car racing, crashes, shooting, fighting, explosions etc!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
