A VERY WET BUT STILL WARM BUT NOT SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 17th/ SEPTEMBER 2014.

Well as we got up this morning the ‘wet stuff’ had arrived over night, it was only light so we carried on and got ourselves ready; I had a quick shower and Brenda sorted her hair out, we then got ourselves all dressed up and grabbed a quick breakfast ready to set off to Marbella.

Then the heavens opened and it turned into a severe rain storm, this is a typical occurrence at this time of the year, remember it has not rained for nearly six months! When it rains in Spain, it rains!! The temperature is still on the 30+degs mark today so its still shirt sleeve order despite the wet stuff. So we sat and waited to see if it would pass but with no luck, we are very disappointed to say the least as we were looking forward to our shopping day out and lunch!!

This means that we will try again next Monday as it’s the only date in the calendar that is free before my birthday next Wednesday; ‘Reina’ is here on Thursday & Saturday this week and Tuesday & Thursday next week, we are doing our local shopping on Friday and are waiting to hear from Lilli as to when she is flying back to Finland sometime next week as we have offered to take her to the bus station in Marbella.

So we have changed back to our normal clothes and are catching up with the chores around the house, it looks like we are in for a long quiet day at home with some reading this afternoon; this evening for supper we are having another one of our favorite meals “Chicken Schnitzels with Spaghetti Milanaise ” with finely sliced Green Beans, a sauceboat of my Tomato salsa and I will sneak a Campo fried Egg on the top of mine!

Last night after our supper, the Calves Liver was delicious, we followed  the ‘Champions League Football – Group Stages’ Brenda was down stairs watching the Real Madrid v Basel match on TVE1 and shouting the scores up to me in the office as I was watching the Liverpool v Ludogorets game on the large PC; Real thrashed Basel 5-1 despite their poor form in ‘La Liga’ and Liverpool struggled against the unknown team who equalized in the final minute to make it 1-1only for Liverpool to get a penalty in extra time, scored by Gerrard to make it 2-1on the night

As the Liverpool game progressed I was calling Tim over in Old Colwyn on the house phone to talk about the match, when it went 1-1 at the end I turned off the PC and went back downstairs only to find out a little later in the highlights programme on the ‘TDP’ sports channel that the final score was  2-1!! It just goes to show that it’s not over until the fat lady sings – as they say!!

Tonight its more of the same football as Manchester City travel to Bayern Munich and Barcelona welcome Apoel Nic?! I will follow one of the games in the office after supper. Sorry Josie I’ve got a bit carried away with the football!! City lost 1-0 in the final minute and Barcelona were lucky to win 1-0 as the team from Cyprus played very well!

Later last night I caught another live concert from the ‘Jazz San Javier Festival’ – it was “ The Havana Street Band featuring Lucercia ” Rather different but she was a ‘Helluva’ singer and the band played excellent Salsa/Rumba music with a twist!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
