A STILL WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 25th/ SEPTEMBER 2014.

Back to normal this morning, for now, as little princess ‘Reina’ was dropped off for the day; the weather is fne and dry and the forecast is for more of the same over the weekend, the overall temperatures have come down a little, it’s now hovering on the 29/30degs mark and at night its just 14/15degs which makes it rather pleasant.

After breakfast we walked the dog along Calle Mar to the chemists to pick up Brenda’s prescriptions and bumped into an English couple walking their dog, so we ended up sat having a coffee with them, Ken & Donna Davison. they have just retired down here and our living quite local and are from Chester – it’s a small world! We are possibly going to met them tomorrow night down at the Council presentation in ‘Castillo de la Duquesa’

Meanwhile back at the house I’ve just got tonight’s supper on the go; we are having ‘Albondigas (Meatballs!) in a rich Tomato, Mushroom and Red Pepper sauce’ using my famous Tomato salsa as a base, not much work for the vegetable chef as we are just having Garden peas and I will cook the Spaghetti this evening ‘Aldente!’ See the picture below.

‘Chispa’ has just come calling and is playing with her girlfriend ‘Reina’

Just an update on the birthday celebrations, this morning we have just received in the post a birthday message, post card and info booklet from Terry & Alma in France from a village near where they live called ‘Pontmain’ below Caen, which is on the Pilgrims route to ‘Santiago de Compostelo’! Thanks to you both! Whenever we receive a port card we then send you one back from sunny Manilva – so please keep them coming!

Also yesterday we had a phone call from the ‘Heart Monitoring Service’ of the ‘Junta de Adalucia’ to wish me ‘Happy Birthday’ and ask how I was?! This is because I’m the registered person but with Brenda’s details on the file as it was the quick way to get on line as I was already in the system as a pensioner!!

Brenda is catching up with the washing and ironing today and I’m up in the office catching up on the WWW – the response to the “Champ Picture” has been remarkable along will all the new birthday wish’s on Facebook.

Which reminds me that yesterday while we were out up in Ponferrada at the “ World Road Race Championships” Sir Bradley Wiggins won the Gold Medal for the Time-Trial when he beat Germany’s Tony Martin by 26 seconds,denyning him his fourth successive world title!!

Later this evening after supper we will channel hop and find something to watch.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
