A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 12th/ SEPTEMBER 2014.

Up early again this morning and after a quick breakfast we set off on our travels; our first port of call was the local market down by the sports complex, sadly the flower man was not there today so we carried on down to Sabinillas,I got some cash from the bank machine and then Brenda called into the English newsagents for the papers and a birthday card ( watch out it could be you!) Did she remember mine?!

We then did our regular shop at ‘Mercadona’ – we park in the underground car park as it’s still very hot down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’! Next we went down to the promenade at the far end to the ‘Friday Market’ and got the fresh flowers and also some more plants at a very good price! We then came back around to ‘SuperSol’for some essential English goods.

We came back up to the village through the vine fields which are starting to look a little bare; we unloaded and I put the car away in the main underground car park at the entrance to the village. We are having a nice quiet day as we have no doggy sitting duties and tonight the ‘Chef’ has given himself the night off so we are going up to ‘Bar Rojas’ for our supper.See the picture above.

Yesterday over in Malaga the largest cruise liner in the world called into the port for the day “Oasis of the Seas ” with 6,320 passengers and 2,394 crew! Weight 225,ooo tons, Length 361 metres,16 Floors, total cost to build over three years 855 million euros!

Lilli has just called on her way to catch the bus down to Sabinillas, she is getting over her cold/fever and is busy at home during the week working on her English Degree Course that she is taking; on Wednesday she went for her interview at ‘ BET 365.COM’ – the company that Brian is working for! It went very well so fingers crossed for her, it’s in another department more sales orientated which suits her. I’m taking her across to Marbella Bus Station some time next week to catch her flight to Finland to finalize their business commitments.

NEWSFLASH;

Oscar Pistorius has just been found guilty of manslaughter and will be sentenced in October!

Today’s stage 19 of the ‘Vuelta’ is from ‘Salvateria Do Mino’ to ‘Cangas Do Morrazo’ – yesterday was another classic as all the main riders battled it out on the final climb of the day,Chris Froome jumped away and left Contador and Valverde behind and took over the second spot in the race,Contador is still in the leaders ‘Red Jersey’ with three days to go!

Last night we watched a ‘soft’ film called “ Salmon Fishing in the Yeman” from 2011 – a romantic British comedy-drama with Ewan McGregor,Emily Blunt and the ever watch able Kristin Scott Thomas.

The late live music concert from the ‘Jazz San Javier Festival’ was the “ Chicago Blues Living History Band ” with guests; the band was older blues players at their best with the Bass man playing a six string ‘Fender’ Bass Guitar, the piano player was also a ‘Helluva’ ‘Hammond Organ’ wizard and the drummer was from the old school with the lead guitarist as well, the band is led by a old fashioned Blues Harmonica player. they had two guest Harmonica/Singers  and two Blues Guitar/Singers – the star being ‘Billy Branch’ on the Harmonica!!

“ BLUES ROCKS ” !!
