A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 13th/ SEPTEMBER 2O14.

Still no lie in this morning as we were awoken by the preparations for the first annual “ Vendimia Mountain Bike Race” starting outside the Town Hall at the top of our street! See the pictures below. It’s over 64kms around the vine fields, hills, mountains and valley’s of sunny Manilva, organisd by the ‘Manilva Cycling Club’ and the Sports department of the council with riders from all over Andalusia; it finishes back here at around 1-00pm – see the pictures above, later!

The winner was 'Marquez?!' in 2 hours 44 minutes - it turns out that he is the 4 times Champion of Spain!!!

So carrying on with the sports theme (Sorry Josie!) this afternoon it’s the next to last stage of the ‘Vuelta’from 'Santo Estevo De Ribyas De Sil' to 'Puerto De Ancares'

Over in England in the ‘Premiere League’ it’s the early kick off at Arsenal v Manchester City then West Brom v Everton and the late kick off as Liverpool welcome AstonVilla; over here in ‘La Liga’ its Barcelona v Ath.Bilbao and the then the ‘El Classico’ as Real Madrid welcome Atl.Madrid!!

City drew 2-2 Everton won 0-2 Liverool lost 0-1! Barcelona won 2-0 and Real Madrid lost 1-2 !!

The ‘Motor GP’ is taking place in Misano for the “ San Marino GP”

We have planned a nice relaxing weekend just taking things easy at home; this evening for our supper we are having ‘Entrecote Steak’ with all the usual trimmings and tomorrow night ‘Escalope of Turkey Breast’

Yesterday lunchtime in the post we received a post card from the ‘Queen of Skelton’ from her small winter palace in the tiny village of Skelton ‘Up North!’ It was a rather deep and dark “ Vincent Van Gogh” as the village post office had run out of the Skelton Views! We love receiving post cards as it’s a nice old fashioned way of keeping in touch so please when you can send one to us from North Wales,Cheshire,England,France, Australia, Kuala Lumpor and anywhere that you are visiting – thanks!! We will reciprocate !!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
