ANOTHER VERY ' CRISP' & SUNNY DAY IN MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 17th/ JANUARY 2018.

We were both up early, again, this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot down to the ‘Medical Centre’ in Sabinillas for my blood test etc, I was in & out in no time, meanwhile back at the house Brenda welcomed the new dog, ‘Charlie’ to ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ for his weeks holiday, he should have arrived last night but the flight times for his owner had changed, later this morning ‘ Scruffy’ is due back with us for 2/3 days as Rose goes into hospital for a operation, that she has been waiting for. Tomorrow morning little princess ‘ Reina’ is back for the day, as usual, so we will have a house full, watch this space.

Yesterday morning after ‘ Chico’ was collected he went to the ‘ Groomers’ for the full works, as you can see below in the before & after pictures! We can’t wait to see him back with us in a few weeks time.

Once again this morning, as I was going through the vine fields down to Sabinillas, the sun had come up above the  ‘Mediterranean’ horizon, starting another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – the sky was clear and bright red, turning to blue later, no clouds in the sky and just a slight breeze, we are in for a lovely day in sunny Manilva, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 18/19 degs, over the next few days and into the weekend it’s more of the same , getting a little warmer also, next week is now looking warm & sunny, settled, with more sunshine, watch this space.

We are waiting for the maintenance men to return to finish of the repairs to the floor & ceiling after yesterdays burst pipe, hopefully later this morning, watch this space.

PS, They have just arrived, the two ' Antonio's' !! They have cemented the floor and re-plastered the ceiling, at the same time they re-fitted a light shade in our bedroom and changed the fluorescent tube in the back kitchen, we have also arranged to have the whole house ' Fumigated ' - watch this space.

See below a old picture of the ‘Royal ‘ opening of the “ Queensway Tunnel “ under the River Mersey back in 1934, somewhere in the picture is my Dad, Tommy Sexton, on his racing bike, he was the first person to ride through the tunnel!

At lunchtime we took the two dogs for a nice walk and ended up back outside ' Bar Rojas' for a cool drink sat in the very hot sunshine, were we met a nice man, who was walking his dog, he's moved down here, but comes from 'Narrava '  - from the capital city of Pamplona, in Northern Spain.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Pan-Seared Lambs Liver ‘ – dusted in seasoned flour, then ‘ Flash’ cooked on a very hot griddle-plate, served with Crispy Smoked Bacon and accompanied with a rich ‘Red Wine, Mushroom, Onion & Shallot Salsa ‘ – with finely sliced Green Beans and ‘Pommes de Terre Rissolees’ – cooked Baby New Potatoes tossed in foaming Parsley Butter!

As usual we are watching the various Quiz shows in the afternoon/early evening, ‘Countdown, Pointless, Eggheads, Only Connect, Mastermind & University Challenge ‘ – then the new series of ‘Great British Railway Journeys ‘ with Michael Portillo, he’s heading to North Wales at the moment!

We have also caught up the ‘ Rick Stein’s Road to Mexico ‘ – including stopping at the ‘Caesar’s Restaurant ‘ in Tijuana, for the original recipe of the classic “ Caesar Salad “ – ‘ Romaine’ Lettuce mixed in a dressing of slated Anchovy Fillets, Lime juice, Mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Garlic, Olive Oil and of course Parmesan, topped with a single, large, Crouton!

Finally we watched the second part/episode of ‘ Silent Witness ‘ – with a few surprises at the end, this evening it’s the second episode of ‘ Kiri’ with Sarah Lancashire.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
