A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 21st/JANUARY 2018.

Just a little lie in this morning before taking the two dogs out for their first walk of the day, ‘ Charlie ‘ decided to sleep down stairs on the settee in Brenda’s spot last night, ‘Scruffy’ was then able to sleep in his executive bed next to ours, he’s being collected later this morning as Rose came out of Hospital yesterday afternoon, we will, as usual miss him, he’s a real character and my ‘ Shadow’! ‘Charlie’ is due to be collected on Wednesday, on Monday little princess ‘ Reina’ is back with us for three days.

The sun was out first thing this morning and the sky was already bright blue as we set off, there is just a slight breeze, it’s still ‘ Crisp’ in the shade but very warm in the sunshine, reaching 21 degs+ by lunchtime, very pleasant for the time of the year, on Monday we are in for more of the same, the rest of the week and over next weekend are staying dry, warm & sunny, getting a little cooler towards the end of the week, watch this space.

See below a picture taken from the top of the ‘ Sierra Bermeja’ behind the village, looking down
towards Gibraltar and across to the ‘ Rif ‘ mountains of Africa!

When we returned Brenda treated me to her famous ‘ Campo Poached Eggs on Toast’  ( See below ) with mugs of steaming tea, to set us up for the day ahead, we are taking things very easy, relaxing and doing nothing in particular, because we can!

At lunchtime we went up to ' Bar Rojas and sat in the very warm sunshine for a nice cool drink, we met a very nice couple, Jim & Samantha, who are living down in Duquesa, and had a good chat and news catch-up with them, nice to meet you and we looking forward to seeing you again up here in sunny Manilva.

All will be revealed on another day ' Cheers ' !

For our supper this evening it’s going to be ‘ Pan-Seared Medallions of Pork Fillet ‘ accompanied with a Creamy ‘Green Peppercorn’ sauce, as we have some leftover from last night, with Glazed Baby Carrots with Ginger & Whole Baby ‘French’ Green Beans along with ‘ Pommes de Terre Rissolees’ ! On Monday using the rest of the Fillet of Pork it’s going to be ‘ Escalopes of Pork Schnitzels’ – ‘ Holstein’ style with ‘ Spaghetti Milanese’ – an old favourite classic!

Yesterday evening after supper we watched the next two ‘ back to back’ episode of the excellent French crime/drama series “ Spiral 6 “ – next week is the final two parts, the police drama based in Paris follows three story lines, which are coming together, a ‘ gay’ murder, a police corruption case with a cop killed, a child prostitution ring, robbery and gangs, all with a bit of vengeance thrown in! Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
