I was up early, again, this morning to see
little princes ‘ Reina’ back with us for day here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ –
she shot upstairs and joined us for a little lie in, she’s back tomorrow for
the last time this week, ‘ Charlie’ was fast asleep on one of the settees until
we all got up, he’s being collected later tomorrow, after a quick freshen up we
went out with him for his first walk of the day, around the bottom of the
village, Brenda called into the local sub-post office to post a ‘special’
birthday card, watch out it could be you?!
PS; ‘ Scruffy’ is back with us for the
night as Rose has to go back into Hospital in the morning for a check up.
When we returned we had our favourite
toasted ‘ Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – open on brown for Brenda, smothered in
‘HP’ Brown sauce with mugs of strong ‘ PG Tips ‘
See below ' Spain ' today !
We have another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ this morning, the sun broke through earlier and the sky has cleared and in bright blue, there is no breeze so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 19/20 degs+ again, it’s rather pleasant, to say the least, in the sunshine its warm, getting hotter by the minute, over the next few days into the weekend it’s going to be a little cooler, dropping down to 14/15 degs, it’s staying dry and sunny, next week is now also looking the same on the forecast, for now, watch this space.

See below some pictures of the sunrise over
the Mediterranean this morning and the beach down in Sabinillas later.
At lunchtime we went along to ' Bar Castillo' - with some difficulty, as the Contractor's workmen were digging up the pavement outside the Town Hall, after a little detour, we arrived for a nice cool drink and a chat/gossip with Juan.
This evening for our supper we are having ‘
Grilled Gammon Steaks ‘ topped with seared Pineapple Rings and ‘ Campo’ Fried
Eggs! Garden Peas & twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ on the side, with more ‘HP’ Brown
sauce!! Tomorrow I’m going to make one of our favourite ‘ comfort’ meals; ‘Braised
Steak with Mushrooms & Onions ‘ with Brenda’s famous ‘ Mashed Potato’ on
the side, I will be using sliced ‘Entrecote Steak’ and the ‘ Vegetable Chef’
will no doubt be producing a selection of fresh local vegetables, watch this

One bit of sad news this morning is that
back in Colwyn Bay, in North Wales, the Council have finally started the
demolition of the old Pier, after many years of various organizations trying to
save it, see below a picture of the Pier, as it faces the end of it’s history.
Meanwhile up in sunny Mojacar, our dear
friend Tim will no doubt be making plans for Thea’s 60th Birthday
celebrations at the end of the month. On his 60th Birthday, just
before we left on our travels, we arranged for a party of his friends (16 of
us!) to go to Budapest for a long weekend, the highlight being the seven course
gourmet meal at the famous “ Gundel “ Restaurant – with ‘ Venison ‘ for the main course, with all
the accompanying wines, including the World famous ‘ Egri Bikaver, Bulls Blood ‘
and with the dessert the classic White
dessert wine ‘ Tokaji’ - when I came to
pay the bill it was the largest figures that I’ve ever seen as the Hungarian
currency, the ‘Forint’ has lots of ‘0s’ in it!!
To get to the restaurant from our ***** Hotel by the side of the Danube we went on the World famous ‘ Budapest Metro ‘
– it’s the oldest electrified underground in Europe and the second-oldest in
the World!
Last night before supper we watch the new
series of ‘Great American Railway Journeys’ with Michael Portillo as he travels
from Boston to end up in Toronto, later after supper we caught the next two-part
episodes of ‘ Silent Witness ‘ as the team from the forensic pathology
department joined forces, awkwardly, with the US Embassy, the FBI & the CIA
after the murder of a diplomat, found posed on a bench after being shot in the
road, then a lady doctor was found in a ballroom of a hotel in a similar pose,
finally the new ‘ love interest’ of the main character played by Emilia Fox, a
senior diplomat at the Embassy, is kidnapped, after their first night of
passion! Watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; ,See above.
