A VERY COLD, GREY & OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 13th/ JANUARY 2018.

We managed a little lie in this morning as the village is even quieter than normal, ‘ Chico’ slept in his bed, by the side of ours, all night, as it was not so cold, after we freshened up we made contact with Jack & Lyn over in Melbourne on the ‘ Skype’ video after ringing them to tell them to go online! The new updated version of ‘Skype’ is rather different and will need some time to master, watch this space, as we are due to contact Sandra & Bill over in Everett, Ontario, Canada tomorrow evening, they are 6 hours behind us here in Spain!

Jack & Lyn are both very well despite Lyn ending up in hospital, a week ago, as she badly cut her arm on a gate, when visiting her daughter Deb, no stitches as she has ‘ thin’ skin, so she has her arm all strapped up, as you can see on ‘Facebook’ yesterday, there were some great pictures of them out a family get together for a birthday ( Trav’s)

See below.

At the moment it’s grey & overcast, as we took ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day, it’s also rather ‘ crisp’ and the wet stuff is forecast to hit us later, only reaching 13/14 degs by lunchtime, tomorrow is now cloudy but dry and down to 12 degs! Next week is looking dry & sunny, all week, hovering on the 17/18 degs mark as the week goes on, watch this space.

On the sports front this weekend; over in the ‘ Premier League ‘ Tottenham welcome Everton later today and then tomorrow it’s Liverpool v Manchester City, in the ‘ Match of the Day ‘ as the two top teams meet! Here in ‘ La Liga’ Real Madrid are at home to Villarreal and Barcelona travel to Real Sociedad. The ‘ National Hunt Racing’ this afternoon is from Warwick & Kempton Park.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks ‘ cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare’ – then left to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms & ‘ Beer Battered ‘ Onion Rings, with whole Baby French Green Beans and of course twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ – ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce on the side.

Yesterday evening after supper we channel hopped and watched various programmes on all the main channels, this evening. Later, we will catch the next two, back to back, episodes of the  excellent French Police Drama series “ Spiral “ set in Paris.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
