A CRISP & DRY SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 10th/ JANUARY 2018.

I was up early this morning to welcome back little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, she shot upstairs and came on the bed, ‘Chico’ who had been on the bed all night, as last night as we were going to bed there was a storm and he wanted to join us, this morning he went back in his bed and we all had a little lie in, ‘Reina’ then went in her duvet, after freshening up we had a quick toast & tea before Brenda took ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day and I shot down and picked up the car from the council underground car park and went down to Sabinillas.

I called into the Medical Centre and was able to make two appointments for us to see our Doctor, Natalia, later this afternoon, the lady on the desk was very helpful and had processed our transfers as she said she would, very quickly!

During the night the cold ‘Atlantic’ storm hit us again, with heavy rain, it lasted for a while, this morning  it had headed away and the sky was clearing as I went down to the coast, the overall temperatures have picked up to 16/18 degs over the next three days, then sadly on Saturday some of the wet stuff is due to return over the weekend, and into next week, going a little cooler also, next week is now looking a little better with the sunshine on the horizon, watch this space.

See below the view taken this morning from ‘Punta Chullera’ down the coast, looking towards Gibraltar, in the distance, as the storm cleared away.

When I returned I then got this evenings supper on the go; “ Braised Steak with Onions & Mushrooms in a Red Wine sauce “ -  the steak is dusted in seasoned flour and then ‘browned’ off, before placing it on a bed of sautéed Onions in the large casserole dish, at the same time I make the sauce with sliced Onions & Shallots, chopped Garlic, diced Carrots, Turnips, Leeks & Celery and Baby Mushrooms, all sweated off with Red wine, a rich Beef & Vegetable stock is then added as well as the secret ingredients, the seasoning and consistency adjusted before coating the steak in the casserole dish ready to go in the oven this evening.

The ‘ Vegetable Chef’ is preparing Cabbage with fresh local Acelgas, Glazed Carrot Batons & Garden Peas and Baby New Potatoes in the skins, which after boiling she then peels and this evening I will ‘ Rissolees’ them in foaming butter until golden brown all over!

Hopefully this evening Lee is calling in, when he collect little princes ‘Reina’ and will then sort out the problems with the ‘Skype’ system, watch this space.

Last night we watched the second part/episode of ‘ Silent Witness ‘ and then channel hopped.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
